Hi All and thanks to everyone who made me feel welcome at Telford - it was good to see you all (Toad, the iced beer pannier was `individual`) :D

Anyway, someone (can`t remember - was a fellow tosser) asked me for some tank protection panels in the same design as the light protectors. I did this for him but realised that the P Clamps where an absolute b*stard to fit :blast

Here is the evolution of the protectors and are now using plastic coated spring clips to simply clip onto the bars :bounce1

Yes they are for sale (and hopefully in the right section) if anyone is interested (www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk) and I guess this could be a blatant `plug` for my gear but, as always, I would like to share my own opinions with you as I would do with anyone elses product on our Fine Forum.

For anyone who is kind enough to consider purchasing please let me say that although there is some protection to the tank I personally think they are too much bling and not enough practical use as, really, its only a punture `wound` which is going to get in between the bars. Also, the fitting, which takes seconds (literally) also means they can be nicked `in seconds` :blast

To the Tosser who ordered the first pair - I`m not `dissing` ya or the parts and I hope you are pleased. otherwise a full refund is no problem if you aint 100% happy.

They are made in my normal way :blagblah:blagblah:blagblah but just keep in mind what I try to be an unbiased opinion on my stuff (this isn`t my day job - just a passion which I try to be honest about and which I don`t have to bullsh*t about!).

Anyway, in the meantime thanks for all the support - some of my gear does get well received and for those orders I am appreciative.

Off to France on sunday on my GSA - woohoo :clap:clap:clap:clap

And I think.............

And I think it makes the side of the bike look like a cheese grater :D

(self criticism/abuse has never been a problem for me................)

Sorry Mark, Looks out of place to me. Also why would anyone need/want a metal tank protecting plate attached to the tank protector? :nenau

As this sort of thing is only ever going to be Bling, a flat plate with holes in, fixed over some quite nice looking stainless bars don't shout 'or even wisper' Bling to me

Considering that you are realistically talking Bling, why not make it with something other than holes. After all it's not a cheese greater is it. How about a nice laser cut GS logo or something similar? Maybe match the finnish to the head guards too?

Also instead of placing it rather amateurishly over the crash bars with some dodgy looking klips. Why not cut it more accurately to fit just inside the open space? You can make some consealed fastening to hold it in place.

I've been looking at most of the bit's and bobs you are making and most of it looks quite good. You obviously have access to the equipment, so I'm sure you can do a much better job here. :thumb2

Thanks val - fair comment. I did originally use P Clamps but you would not believe how near impossible it was to fit them - though they did have the advantage of being near impossible to remove!

good comment about the design and yes a nice GSA logo would look good and I`d be pleased to do one if only for your further comment and possibly others too.

Thanks for the feedback - without it I`d have very little idea of what is good or not :thumb2

And yes, it`s not every ones cup of tea and I do respect the geezers who have already purchased this item (sold another pair tonight).

Hi Mark - wonder if you read my email re RT crudcatcher - sent to your works address?

Kritou - mate, if you are `Jim Byrne` who I received an email from about a crud catcher (but with no model disclosed) then yes I can get an RT crud made and sent within that date `envelope`. What you need to do is to paypal the dosh to [email protected] and in the notes to seller clearly state what you want and the address it needs to be sent to for the date range required. The prices are on my site mate www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk

And thank you for your kind wishes - I can`t wait and I just simply love riding my bike. I have heard the French are really coming down hard on bikers this year and imposing fines if we don`t wear reflective jackets/bibs

MGJ - sorry, yes I did get the PM but because I am mostly stupid didn`t get round to replying. yes, it is possible to design and make when I get back. Can you send me the design to [email protected] and via the forum (so I get it) and can you keep it as simple as possible for both time and machine limitations?
