Bought a new computer and do not have a mapsource disk. Have installed mapsource using the 'tweak' so at least it is now installed.

It doesn't have any maps associated with it- I have a Zumo 550 with CN2010 loaded on it- how do I get maps onto my new laptop??

You should have got the mapsource disc and maps with your Zumo. Is your Zumo registered at MyGarmin?

I didn't get a mapsource disk when I purchased the GPS- it was originally a zumo 400 but returned it to Garmin when it went faulty- got a Zumo 550 as a replacement.

I have downloaded and installed Mapsource using the tweak, but I don't have any maps installed on my new computer. I have got the garmin map update file (3gb+) that I used to update my 550 zumo- I have copied that over to my new computer, but when I try to install it the program wants to connect to my Zumo 550. Am worried I will overwrite the Zumo with the wrong maps- will this process transfer the maps over to the GPS and the PC at the same time???

I bit the bullet and transferred the 3gb map update over to my new laptop- ran the update program- this installed the maps to my new computer, but I had to re-install the maps on the zumo. It took nearly two hours mind.

Got the best of both worlds- maps on both PC's
