New dealer in Chester

Certainly no BMW presence atm.
Can't even work out where they're going to set up. There's not a lot of room left on that lane.

Rode down on my CBR & not 1 Harley rider nodded! :)

Good pix. Very helpful.

If you look at the 2nd of the 2 photos -

The Harley Davidson dealership is the building on the far right of the photo. The smaller, 'cottage' looking building to the left of the main Harley building is going to be demolished (quite soon) and will be replaced with a brand new, 3 storey BMW Motorrad dealership. I have seen the plans and it looks absolutely fantastic.

What you can also see in the photograph, and you really need to look very closely, is a prototype of the new BMW R1250GS...

That's great Paul (Paul Newman? really?) :thumb2

I'll be there for my free coffees as soon as you open.

See what happens when you leave your car there? You can tel it is close to Liverpool. :ronno

fixed it for ya

See what happens when you leave your car there? . :ronno
Harley Dealer services Peugeot but goes one better than williams by removing the wheel before customer collection

Going on my own previous experience with Harley dealers I would think that Chester Harley may need to run a "Be Nice To People Course" before they open their doors to BMW or to Riders of any other make. I have visited three Harley Dealers in different parts of the Country over the past 5 years and have been totally "blanked" both by Staff and Harley Riders. Two of the Dealers even had those silly signs outside, "Parking for Harley Davidson Only". Just how they hope to "convert" people to their brand is beyond me. By comparison when I first walked into Cooper BMW (previously Mill) a few years ago just for a look I was greeted with a pleasant offer of help if I needed it, a cup of coffee and a general feelgood atmosphere. They have since sold me two Bikes. As for the Dealer Name, well thats just snobbery. "Chester Harley", "Chester Lexus" and now "Chester BMW" and all three are right in good old Ellesmere Port. Not more than a couple of hundred yards down the road is the correctly named "Ellesmere Port Sewage Works"

I can promise you that the natives are friendly at Chester H D and the whole experience can only get better with the likes of Paul joining them too.

Been there several times on my GS and nothing but praise for the place.

Yup, agreed as above, this HD dealership is a good un...always been welcomed there and had a good mooch around :thumb2 Next door ( well opposite ) is where I had the Lexus 300 serviced......cars are as boring as hell !!!
Should be good when the Bemmer place opens.... rock on airheads !!!:)

Hello all,

Just a quick update as I am extra tired and beddie-bo's beckons...

I started work at Chester Motorrad yesterday and should have a phone number that I can post for you sometime next week.

It's probably going to be approx. 2-3 weeks before we will have everything up and running but please feel free to call in meanwhile and say hello. The cups of tea and bacon butties off the van in the car park are mega - I will have to be v. careful or I shall rapidly turn into a large 'un!
If you come in and I'm not about one of the HD people should be able to track me down. I've spent a lot of today clearing stuff out of the "cottage". As soon as that is done, we have the contractor on standby ready to come in and demolish the cottage to make way for the new building.

I'd like to give a special mention to Craig Gilbert. He will be collecting the first new bike ever from Chester Motorrad when he picks up his F800GS on Saturday - I hope he's as excited as I am!

Cheers all,

Paul.

Geat news Paul, well done.

I have a F650 GS 2007 (single) that needs a 600 mile service, and there ae two issues that need looking at.

Congrats Paul, glad everything worked out for you in the end.

What's your role going to be, Service Manager again or will you be involved in Sales?
