New firmware for GPSmap 176

v3.91 beta of the GPSmap 176/176C firmware is now available;

When I loaded this on my GPSmap 176 it deleted all my waypoints, routes and tracklogs and reset the unit to factory defaults.

Also, waypoint transfer with G7ToWin (v174) is broken but Mapsource (v6.0.4beta) still works

Burnie:

Non-public betas almost always reset the non-vol memory, that is important for ensuring you are working from a "clean sheet" for testing. But I have not heard of a public beta that resets non-vol before.

Also, public betas usually end with a round number (.10 , .15 . .20 , etc.), non-public ones increment in hundredths.

My guess is that this one kind of 'slipped out' by error on a Friday afternoon.

Flashed my GPS V 14 times (including 3 betas) without it clearing everything.

Yep, those Friday lunches will do it every time.

This time it did not clear my waypoints etc and did not reset to factory defaults.
