New Fork Bushes

I priced up new forks today.

£1700 the pair

That's about 25p a mile :D

Would a set of WP48mm 2nd hand from fleabay + bit of machining to make everything fit not still be a cheaper way to go and probably sort the problem once and for all :nenau

I am thinking this route and waiting for a set of 950/990 KTM front end to hit ebay when I have money at the same point in time :D

I just don't check my front forks so it then does not bother me :hide

Ohhh and what happens if you get BMW extended warrenty, wait a bit and then get them to replace again. That is about £400 compared to £1700

That's why I got the price, something to compare cost of alternative replacements - may need new wheel as well etc etc depending which forks I use.

If I did buy new BM forks they would come with 1 yrs warranty, but then the replacement set wouldn't etc. So price would be halved if the failed at least every year (on past experience - easily:D)

This is going way ...

Bastids

After less than 500 road miles there's play back in the forks.

Which means that the new bushes are made of cheese or the the legs sliders are obviously worn. So back to square one - new forks needed.

Bastids bastids bastids :tears:tears:tears:tears

This is going hysterical.Go to a psychologist.
50.000 Kms.All terrains.I don't know how many sets of tires both E and M.I don't want to know how much money on brake pads.
Way back at 20.000Kms had once the front taken apart and examined by a specialist.(Because of this readings here or else i don't remember). He said absolutely no prbl.
Of course the coating is worn out but why should i care?
As time goes i find people around looming on this bike more and more.Or maybe it's my idea. But i have it for :D not for others to look. So,why should i care if the coating is not so shiny?
Cheers.:beerjug:
