Today i have taken my R1200GS 2010 anniversary in to my dealer relating to a damp fork leg that has been happening from only 500 miles on the clock.(is this a known issue)? Now 1000 miles on clock.
To be fair to the dealer they as well as me have removed the dust seal and the fork leg has been dry inside the seal.
Today i got a call to tell me that the fork stanchion has a scratch in it so needs to be replaced.
I have told the dealer that the engine feels rather lumpy compared to what it was when i first got the bike and also not as smooth as i would expect.
The first service was done at 500 miles.
Today i was loaned a GSA1200 (twin cam same engine as mine) and the difference in performance and smoothness is unbelievable.
Has any one else had any similar issues please let me know.
Lets hope all is sorted when i get her back!! :augie :augie

fork is unlucky...BMW quality control not what it used to be blah blah, focus on collecting $$$ blah blah

engine could need throttle balancing? Or is a dud one, not impossible either...

I think you are just unlucky.

I've never heard of a GS requiring a new front fork under warranty, although about 7 years ago I had to have a front fork on a Yamaha FJR1300 replaced because of a welding spot.
