New GPS or iPhone set up?

Did the same - was disappointed to find not much dirt & grime inside at all

Doesn't take much, just a speck of grit in the wrong place.

Put it all back together - bingo - working fine :clap:clap:clap

:thumb2 Glad you fixed it, nice feeling isn't it :)

Replacement on hold for another 6 years hopefully

For core sat nav functionality without the bells and whistles they're a damn fine GPS, probably more robust than any of the Zumos I'd wager. Won't be selling mine any time soon.

Now - to get my maps updated from City Navigator v6

As it runs non NT mapping you're out of luck I'm afraid. Current NT mapping wont work on a 2610 and Garmin wont release you an unlock code for 2009 which was the last version that would work with that model.

You might want to give OpenStreetMap a try though, free and more comprehensive than the Garmin mapping and, I'm pretty sure, it'll work on your 2610. There might be a few oddities but I'm impressed with what I've seen of it so far. I've downloaded Southern UK and a chunk of Northern France and will be trying it out, in comparison to the latest 2012.40 Garmin mapping, over the next few months.
