New GS coming in 2017

So, an all new GS is coming in 2017. It seems that BMW has decided to give it some more power, if this very badly written snippet is anything to go by.

The GSA will follow later, and there will be some new colours this year (maybe even a triple black :D), but in Q1 next year, the significantly revised GS will be released.

Could be interesting.:thumb

I had a call from a dealer today who told me his manager had just returned from a seminar in Germany and he told me pretty much exactly the same thing. He also said GSA could also be announced for Jan 2017 as they like to 'tease you' but that remains to be seen. I'm still waiting for announcement on new colours etc for this year on GSA and if they launch a new, upgraded one, in Jan then so be it

That's good. They don't believe me on the adv forum!:D

17" wheel up front would be great if the bike still turns in the way it does now. Straight on with Sportsmart 2s. Happy days.

Would like to see the GS go on a bit of diet and lose some weight though. A bit heavy. Maybe a proper HP version? Retaining the tele lever front end would be essential for me.

A new HP Megamoto would be fantastic!

The GS hides it's weight very well tbh I don't find it heavy at all and I'm small, i tried a new triumph explorer today and I was shocked how heavy it was compared to all the other adventure type bikes.

Agreed. But the use of weight saving materials could make for an amazing bike instead of just really good...

lets hope they sort out that appalling transmission / clutch / gearbox ...

The clutch is gorgeous, light, silky action and precise. Yours must have been faulty? Perhaps ?

Everyone will totally agree the gearbox is the bikes weakest feature ( maybe second to the the corrosion woes?)

A good clutch is more than just a silky lever ... it does also involve separating clutch plates .... !! (or not in the wc's case ... )

Laughing !
I agree there were many issues, some caused by foolish dealers (mainly in the USA) overfilling the oil , and others (manly here ) using the wrong oil!

It will cost £18,000 for the base model. Have an IMU, cornering lights, HUD dash and Bluetooth connectivity. A bit more power and the same weight as the current GS. Might even have decent h/grips😀

Interesting stuff, more info please! :)
