Hello everyone,
Its been a while that i am reading through this forum.
I really want a GS , maybe a GSA but i am not sure because i commute with my lady everyday in London and the traffic is crazy, never had a problem filtering with my Multistrada 950 but the GSA its huge.

I had a test ride last sunday at Motorrad park lane.
I tried a GS TE and i am in love. The guys there offered me 7500£ for my 2017 Multi 950 with 7K miles.

I am on the hunt for the Rallye TE thats the specs that i like and the color scheme that attracts me most.

Now i have few questions:

1. SHALL I WAIT FOR THE 1250 GS announcement in october for a price drop on the last “previous generation” bikes?

2. THERE WILL BE A PRICE DROP? How was in 2013?

3. I have read about contribution-get finance-pay off finance scheme that a lot of people have used to get a discount. The London dealer didn’t mention any contribution.

4. THE BEST BIKE AT THE MOMENT FOR ME IS A
GS RALLYE TE 2018 5500miles TFT SCREEN
AT 13.600£ from another dealer. DO YOU THINK IS A GOOD PRICE?

4A. SECOND BEST OPTION IS A GSRallye Te with only 7 miles free satnav navigator 6 NO TFT at 14887£

5. I READ IN OTHER POSTS THAT IS BETTER TO GET THE LATEST MODEL BEFORE THE NEW ONE TO GET FACTORY UPGRADES IS THIS TRUE?

I am so confused and don’t know what to do

Thank you for your help

Have a lie down mate ....chill...

I’m exhausted just reading it
Agree though, history shows best avoid the new model but depends how much it’s changed from previous.
I’d avoid the 2013 LC & buy the newest you can get a good deal on.

Get the Rallye TE that best suits your budget - I bought mine 8 weeks ago and it's superb... ( Well apart from the loose spokes) GSA is too big for London Traffic and ask your yourself if you need the extra weight.

Deals can be had now on Rallye'..........

You will need to negotiate, they are not published - they are running stock down as the new model is due in a few weeks......

Also Park Lane is BMW owned ,..... Try Bahnstomers in Alton/Maidstone or Vines in Guildford for a better deal..

yes thank you i will give a shout to other dealers

I commute daily on my lowered GSA - but not in the London type of traffic.

Have had several GSs and always wanted a GSA but just couldn't climb on the bloody thing.

After getting lots of good advice on here, I took the plunge and bought a lowered GSA which I absolutely love, so much so that my Triumph Storm just lives in the garage.

I'm 5 ft 10 inch with a 30.5 inside leg (well 2 actually) and I have no idea of your size, but you might want to try one.

Is there any difference width wise between a GS and a GSA in terms of bars and maybe panniers fitted? I guess you could use a top box and remove the panniers to commute - but the bar width might still hinder.

Anyway, as someone else said, chill and have a decent test ride on both and on each type of road that you will ride.

And then buy a GSA :)

I commute almost daily on my 2018 Rallye TE, but its more rural than urban and its a fab bike!

I would have thought a smaller lighter bike would be better for London commuting - also don't dismiss the fact that the GS is one of the most stolen bikes in London, so make sure you have a very secure place in which to store the bike.

Wot Engineer says :thumb2

If you're using a GS to commute in and around London then expect to have it stolen weekly :blast

Much better bikes out there for commuting in to town on :thumb

I will definetly get a gps tracker on it, i also used to go around in the weekend with my lady and the gs is a plus for travel.
I did test ride the F850 gs last weekend as well and its amazing for commuting, problem is the seat is not comfortable at all

You live in London and commute with a pillion already. YOU can work out for yourself whether a GS / GSA (of any model or vintage) will suit you, or whether another bike will serve your day-to-day purposes better.

Yes i do, and at the moment commuting with a multi and a pillion is fine, i am not as fast as the moped guys but its ok, i want a gs for travel mostly, i was also thinking about getting a 500£ sh for the commute problem

Having had one GSA stolen 18 months ago in London and my latest GSA attempted stolen a couple of weeks ago in London in a completely different area I'd say invest in security for it. Nothing wrong with both GS and GSA both awesome bikes, so am sure you'll be happy with any of them......but make sure you protect it in London!

Tracker, Disk Lock, 19mm chain and Squire SS65CS padlock, just about stopped them this time round, Pizza guy filmed the whole attempt while another member of public went to alert Police (they didn't care about disk lock (Sold Secure Gold), went though it with angle grinder on busy street people walking by, Knocked bike over to break the steering lock, they were about to start on chain when undercover police rocked up)......so get as much security on it as you can, its just a matter of trying to slow them down, as they do try!

With the advent of the cordless angle grinder nothing is safe anymore, the only upside is the noise - sometimes 😡

Not so much fun on my 80 mile commute though ;-). Moped is the way forward if living in London and working there, thats what I used till I left the big smoke......
