New Guzzi V85 looks good.

Much as I like it having seen one in the flesh but not [yet] had a test ride I'm concerned that some reviews seem to indicate a lack of ground clearance with pegs scraping when taking advantage of the slick handling. Has anyone experienced this?

no different to any other bike in the class - a friend took delivery of a Tiger 800 last month and over Easter was running out of rear tyre and digging the pegs in. He needs to recalibrate his riding after 2 years with a KTM Super Duke

it's an 80bhp touring bike, not a racer

If you look on some of the video's, particularly the Simon Hargreaves one, you can see the suspension is set on the softest setting, plus they where travelling the type of roads which lend themselves to getting the pegs down.
When I tested the bike I upped the rear suspension one notch. I took it on a road I know very well where I can occasionally touch down the pegs on my Tiger 1200. never had a problem with ground clearance issues on the V85.

Look at all that shite on the front of that bike..

:(

The Italian guy that owns it, was asking about a gaurd for one.

Really like the look of these. Has anyone any real time consumption figures and range from a full tank?

It’s a 23L tank . I’ll wager you will definitely do no worse than 10miles per litre / 46mpg , more likely 50-55 mpg. So that gives you a max range of somewhere between 230-260 miles per tank probably and maybe as much as 275 if you are at 55mpg.... ..how far do you want to go before you need to stop/rest ? :nenau

Many of the early road testers where stating 23 ltrs for the fuel tank. I believe it's actually 21.

Is it next week when you pick yours up Steve?

This is from MGs website ......

The mind boggles. Some sites say 23 ltr, some say 21. I'll soon find out. I was informed about 18 days ago that mine had left the factory. it's maybe coming by horse and cart.
I was really hoping to go to Dent on it, but that's doubtful.

Knowing Guzzi the ones built at the start of the week will be 23 but by the end of the week they’ll be 21 .... ;)

Kenny daarling this is a picture of Guzzies production lines ( 2 )
They don't work 24/7.
So production is limited & they are probably selling more than they can make..
Plus their Italian, so do fings their way :blast

Having also been to the BMW Motorrad factory in Berlin, I can tell you BMW are light years ahead in production & methods ;)

And not arriving i the USA until later in the year ' allegedly '..

Called in at Teasdales Thirsk on my way home from Dent. Big waggon parked outside unloading 12 bikes, alas mine was not among them.
