A former car showroom (was a Lotus dealership for a while) in Ellison Road Dunston seems to be in the process of being opened as a HD dealer. Big sign outside says "Jennings Harley Davidson Soon" - it's near to Jennings Ford Dealership

Tyneside, is there a need for Harleys up there?
Perhaps they fucked up, it will be interesting to see how long it lasts.....I give it 24 months, I really cannot see a need for it that far North and in a part of the UK that mainly deals with poverty.

The one in Newcastle, near the huge Audi dealer closed 18 months ago..... Someone else having a go..

It is a grim place before you populate it, the population enable it to become a place that you would not care to visit, a phrase book is useless as it infers you are trying to communicate without the addition of alcohol, I doubt that there is a soul that could even contemplate riding a HD whilst not under the influence.
It is a mistake to even assume that the residents of such a barren place would gain any enjoyment from riding such a fine machine:D

Well !

I am proper taken with this.

Will it be the big fanfare ?
Then the quiet stage when all the spud chompers have fucked off cos the food ran out ?
The after party, my favorite, minimum £150.00 to get in and wall to wall sluts small boys an booze.
Fucking happy days.

Thanks everyone - I feel so encouraged to remain part of the forum. I knew there was a lot of soft southern shites who were members but didn't realise they were so unwelcoming ... it's not as if I'm a Harley rider!

Att is just bitter because he wouldn't last five minutes in a T shirt down the Bigg Market on on a freezing Saturday night.

:D We didn`t get started yet:clap:thumb2
Surely if you an inhabitant of the frozen North you should know that this would be what can be described as banter, or are you one of those humanoids that came without a sense of humour?

Why would we give a shit if you remain or not? No one likes a freeloader ... Pay your subs and try again.....:D

Pay to a be member of a club with you in it? I might live in the north but I'm not daft

Dunston is a curious location for a Harley dealership.... I'm sure the rent is low, but the one on the Silverlink is surely a much safer location?

If it is Jennings the Ford dealer branching out into bikes then it mat be because the premises are near to their Ford car and Transit premises. The location offers good communications both north and south via the nearby A1

Nearest dealer to Newcastle is Leeds or Edinburgh.... what happened to the one on the Silverlink?

...and they will know how much security they need :D

I'm told that the reason the proprietors of the Triumph dealership in Newcastle and the HD dealership in North Tyneside (Silverlink) - who were the same company - lost or gave up both brands is that the manufacturers required that they had an exclusive showrooms. In each case the company were selling other marques from the locations and weren't prepared to make them exclusive

Heard of the same thing with BMW.

Bought my Harley from a guy in Blyth, he knew the owners through business connections, told me they had a profitable successful dealership.

I was told through another long established respected dealer MD that sometime in Nov 14 the Newcastle dealership had a surprise visit from the HD area manager who found 2 IIRC new MV F4s for sale on the sales floor, apparently it's a number 1 no no to have any none HD bikes for sale on the sales floor. This supposedly caused HD to withdraw the franchise agreement within a few weeks.

This could all just be trade whispers or exaggeration.
You should all try a ride around Northumberland it's a much underrated place to visit great roads masses of history to see.

Actually Zed, I think you're right. I had my Road King front discs done there before it closed and there were a few crotch rocket type bikes in the right window of the dealership. They were away from the main road that comes up from Silverlink but you could see them as soon as you entered the car park.

Att, its not been too frozen this far up north, and I do appreciate a nice Harley. You should come up next time Twizzle is in toon on business :beerjug:

Dunston is tucked quite out of the way for an HD dealership. I'll go when it opens and post photos. Perhaps you could too Mr K as you're close too!
