New HD Pan America on HD site now.

Jeeeeeeez, I'd not noticed before but from the pictures in the MCN article that rad is hoooooge, it's the size of a car radiator

Still, should keep your legs toasty in winter :)

Here's a review by Baldy from ADVRider. Almost unbelievably, he says he would buy the Harley over the GSA, Ducati, Honda and KTM. I never saw that coming....

It wont help at all if it does get implemented. We'll have to see how that pans out.

On a positive note, my HD dealer has committed to honouring the price on my order form, extra duty or not, even though it will be delivered late June

looks pretty bloody good . test riding one soon . can't wait

I've Got my demo ride booked for Saturday, it'll be only my second time riding a HD...the first time being the Livewire.
Really looking forward to it, keen to see how it compares to the BMW GS's I've ridden.

Nice. Are you riding it at Southampton?

Viewed the Pan America Special at H-D Cheltenham today. Bike looks good (to me) and felt good when sat on it, but no test rides until the demo bike arrives in June.

£2k for a top box and panniers is excessive. The display bike had over £5k of accessories fitted!

The bike I'm lined up for has a scheduled build date in Thailand in late May, but unlikely to arrive here for about 3 months.

That bike does appear to have everything from the P&A catalogue thrown at it!

The laced wheels and adaptive ride height look to be good value. The rest, not so much. But expected for HD and probably comparable with BMW.

Mine is also scheduled to ship later this month, but the dealership expects delivery late June/early July.

Where and when did you order yours?

I have specified the laced wheels, adaptive ride height, side cases and mounts, rad shield, titanium pipe and tank pads and a few other bits. I got 10% discount on all parts (but zip on the bike and factory options), so it's coming in at around £19K

I do like the extended black skid plate. But I am fucked if I am going to pay £400 for one. That's a "wait until next time I go to the US" item.

Harley just take the US price and put a pound sticker on it, £2k for panniers and top box might seem unreasonable, but not in Harleys world :D

Try £160 for a pair of grips and £300+ if you want them heated!

£450 for a windshield and the neck end of £350 for a sissy bar and pad.

The aftermarket boys will have a field day and won’t believe their luck.

Mind you, BMW want £1,460 for side cases and mounting frames on a new GS1250.

So HD's (989+299) =£1,288 is comparable - and 12% cheaper even before any discount. And BMW seem to want another £100 to add multifunctional rear indicators.

Another £820 from BMW for an ali top case and mount. vs. (£547+£180) = £727 for HD.

So for full ali luggage, BMW want £2,187 and HD want £2,015 - or 8% less. Again - before any discount either way.

Both are pretty damn expensive though.

Cheltenham allocated me a 'Special' with both factory options several weeks ago. It seems there's strong demand and dealers were only given a limited initial allocation. I expect I'll add the aluminium luggage and the auxiliary lights

I ordered mine from Guildford HD a couple of days after the launch date. I figured the side cases were a necessity, but I could live without the Aux lights for a while as they are very expensive for what they are (and the LED headlight with adaptive feature should be superb anyway) and I will see what the aftermarket does there - or pick them up on a trip to the US.

Guildford say they sold all their allocation of bikes inside the first week.

Quite right, I've shopped in Harley's world for some time! My Road King is in for new front discs and pads (£630) plus a 10K service and MoT (£380) this week.
