Hi guys,
Can anyone living in the north east (Newcastle, Sunderland area) give me some advice on where to get a new set of tyres fitted. I think I’m going for the Metz Tourance, I’ve found places selling but there’s no mention of fitting. A one stop shop would be the thing, any recommendations?

Thanks for any help.

Try the regional section of UKGSer. Here's but a sample of what you might find. I found it from Stockholm on an iPad, so it's not difficult.

Oh, look Zappa asked the same question but a day or so ago. Crikey, it must be a wasteland the NE.

Tyres (or even 'hoops') are not unique to 1200 GS motorcycles. Similarly, the fitting is not very technical, so you could be adventurous and try your local Yellow Pages or Google. It wil be good practice for your next (real) adventure to the root vegetable shop.......

If I really had to guess your local motorcycle dealer / service shop can probably do the job. Give them a call..... They will doubtless tell you where to go.

Try M&S on westgate road Newcastle. They have a fast fit centre 0191 261 0121

mate try this guy ,hrs called jeremy ,and has e tyres he will come to your door and do it for you 01914490081 ,and hes a biker and knows his stuff,he has all the most up to date stuiff and gear in his van ,i cant recomend him enough.

Stockholm, my god you are an adventurer, furthest I've been is Stockton!

You mean other vehicles use tryes as well? Are you sure of this?

.

Now I'm sure Ewan & Charley said that you have to have Knobblies to make it all the way to the root veg shop.

Wapping I’m quite surprised by your reply. After reading quite a few of your posts it’s clear that you have a great deal of knowledge in many fields. That is why I’m so surprised, this kind of sarcasm usually comes from very small minded people? You know nothing about me or the type of riding I do. Why be so sarcastic, what have I done to warrant it? Is it because you believe that all “real adventures” always fit their own tyres?:(

Thanks guys, this is what I was looking for. Local knowledge, advice from guys who live in the area and have used a particular service center. Or someone working privately that is known to be reliable.
