We've ordered in what we think is plenty of everything, so can ship same day, but if we get a run on this stuff and it's out of stock when you get round to ordering, we will be replenishing again before the end of this month (June 2012)

I mentioned it because I had looked at the Twalcom Modeltek protectors and they list a separate model for a non ABS bike. (They are about 3 euros dearer than the ABS version) the only difference I can see is a cut away section for a brake pipe and I have a pipe like that on mine which looks like it would need a slot cut out of the frame protector.

Jeez this pie is taking a bit of chewing :D

You're quite right - that definitely looks like there is a cutout for the brake pipe.

Modeltek don't list a seperate version for the Non ABS bike - just for all R1200GS/GSA - so I've just pinged them an email to see what this is all about.

Being that they are the manufacturer that also supply Twalcom, I wonder if it's a completely different frame protector or if Twalcom do the cutout themselves to the standard ones - pictures are a little bit difficult to see what's what.

Anyhoo - cheers for pointing this out - let me see what Modeltek come back with and I'll keep you posted :thumb2

Thanks. You are listing them cheaper than Twalcom so worth waiting for. I think you will have a sale for the fork protectors. Not that I will be off roading but we are in the middle of stone chip top dressing season here again.

Blimey - a response from an Italian manufacturer in under 2 weeks :D:D

OK - basically we've been using old photos (although they were supplied by Modeltek) and the Frame Guards now manufactured are a universal fit on either Non ABS or ABS versions of the R1200GS/GSA.

I've just gone and grabbed a couple of quick photos of the ones we have on the shelf so you can see where they have increased the mould for the brake pipe.

So there you go - the Frame Guards are confirmed as suitable for all versions of the 1200GS/GSA :thumb2

Fork protectors and frame guards arrived almost before I finished typing the order and fitted before the postman was out of the driveway. Ok I exaggerate slightly but very quick service and robust looking bits of kit. A little bit of adjustment needed with a round file to ensure a good fit but well within the capabilities of someone who can't assemble an IKEA wastepaper bin.

Thanks Sormforce8

Does the Raidbox foul the standard BMW mudguard do you know??

Is this the same as the Twalcom version, or an updated version?

Thanks :thumb2

Hi - it's the same as what Twalcom sell - they all come from the same manufacturer - Modeltek.

It's recommended that you remove the standard rear mudguard, as it can touch it if you fully compress the rear suspension.

A couple of questions about the Raidbox,

instructions online say "To mount the RAIDBOX is necessary to remove the original wire wheel rear fender. Anyway is still possible to restore an effective water protection mounting the following products: AA.02.00001.001.003 - Off-Road Hugger - IT; AA.02.00898.001.003 - TT ® by Modeltek - Raid rear fender (or other appropriate model for your bike); AA.02.00041.001.003 - Protection ® TT rear brake disc"

(1) Does this mean the rear mudguard fender stays off, or comes off to fit the Riadbox and then goes back on?
(2) Also I have one of the number plate storage boxes, I think it was from Marcc, would the door when opening miss this? the number plate storage is not wider than the number plate. http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270790

Thanks,

I don't think it would foul as it sits within the confines of the pannier frame.
