B4ndit etc. - I got Fork Protectors on the 1200GSA in June.
I got them fitted ok after a bit of gentle fiddling around and have them placed so they miss the discs by about 3mm.
Ideal I thought.
But after about 4000 miles to Sweden and back the threaded parts that the cable ties go through have cut through the foam. That means that the cable ties are a bit more slack now - and the back of the plastic mounts are directly against the fork leg, not on the foam. More annoying is that this has allowed the plastic guards to 'wobble' in the airflow and I now have two small chafe marks in the black finish because of the top edge of the guards rubbing on the forks.
A bit ironic, huh? The protector damages the forks.
So I'm less than impressed given they're £40.
Has anyone else noticed this?
I suppose I could replace the foam with something more durable, another set of cable ties and I can trim the top edge of the plastic parts but really - we shouldn't have to remake the things and now have marked fork legs which is a PITA.
