New KTM 1190 Adventure/R

Sorry but ugly as hell, that's why I have order my 990 before the all go..

The more I look at this thing, the more I like it. I love my ADV but this would be close to making me change. I reckon that would be great on an Alaska trip:thumb

May book a test ride when they are available:thumb

Heretic:rob:rob
:D

Wouldn't something like this be far more suitable chap?

Way lighter and better on fuel too... Certainly riding solo, it's the direction I would be headed in if I didn't have the HP2...

I like that....what is it exactly???

I like it. But I cant help thinking it looks a bit odd without a 21" front wheel. I reckon it will sell very well and hurt BMW.

The more competition for BMW the better they then have to up there game in all departments IMHO.

This thing is not a GS . It's KTM having a proper go at the Ducati Multistrada on the road ( similar power, speed and probably/hopefully handling), whilst still retaining a decent amount of off road potential. Offering 2 different versions should make sure that the dirt guys aren't pissed off that its gone too road biased.

It looks good, goes good and will be slim and lightish weight so very manageable.I wont be buying one cos its too expensive for me , but then they all are ;)

The Dec issue of BIKE has a 36 page supplement dedicated to the new 1190s.
They've had exclusive access to the new bikes for months and report in depth on the bikes and the development !!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352468510.729394.jpg

A stripped down 800GS with a Touratech fuel tank :thumb2

I do like the look of the vanilla KTM but with knobblies, however having just specced it up I'm looking at £15k without panniers and a heated seat so that's not happening. :(

I also like the look of the 800GS, and that Touratw@ conversion looks the nuts :drool

The other thing that keeps catching my eye is the R120GS conversion kit teamed up with ally panniers and a fly screen. :nenau

I see that the 1190 R - off road version - has less ground clearance than the standard 990 (the 990 R having 2" more).

Perhaps they're not expecting too many 1190 owners to ride in the Peak District :D

It's not new and the exhausts are a tad different but, it is Orange, it is a V Twin and this is what the new KTM made me think of.
Also, prefer the look of the 'R', but no adjustable seat height, so the seat to peg configuration's no good if you have long legs and would like a 900mm high seat. Considering the cost, i think i'll be better off keeping my 1150 Adv and then buying one of those spangly Bakker Enduro's for some off road shenanigans... unless Vern gets something better up and running that is.:augie

The big problem for me, and has already been mentioned, is the bike's lost it's individuality. It now looks like any of the other soft roader competition. Should've kept the Rallye look with a more comfortable version for two up tourers and an 'R' for the ruffty tuffties!
