New lids coming through

At the bike show yesterday I saw several new lids comeing through. Has anyone any first hand experience of them to add some insight beyond what the selling teams were saying about them?

Schubert C3 Pro was one. Also their new Adventure or E1 I think they said it was called - not made yet, only mock up one to look at in a perspex box!

Airlite X1003 - I know nothing about these helmets other than what you can read on th egeneral interweb, mostly sales based info.

I have never had a flip front helmet, so no idea what they are like. I didn't pick any of them up or put them on, just curious really. What do people have to say about them? My S1 has got to do another 5 years yet and my open face helmet, you don't want to ask.....it has been custom painted and only has webbing in it for fit. No, it probably doesn't meet modern safety strandards, but then, neither do I.

Schuberth C3 Pro has been available for some time/years, the E1 is supposed to be available in the New Year and suggested pricing was in the region of £550.

A number of videos on the E1 if you google. Touratech are bringing out their own version of the E1 next year - looks much better in my opinion and also made by Schuberth.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the E1 is based on the C3 Pro and that the expected RRP for a plain one is £475

Interesting that the C3 Pro over here is cheaper than in the USA (on that Revzilla place it is $770 which = £512) I was quoted £380 for a C3 Pro yesterday at the show - OK, perhaps it was a show special, but so what, that is a big difference and for once, in our favour.

The Xlite looks a good contender too, but no peak - but then I haven't had a peaked helmet for many years, so it proves I can live without one.

Infinity were selling the C3 Pro 'World Edition' for £295 about a month ago then dropped it to £249 in the Black Friday sale all be it with only three lids being available per shop. When they were selling it at £295 they had all sizes available and not XXS & XXL

I bet you could still pick up one now for £295

The X-Lites are a nice fit and light enough too.
They seemed good in the shop at least.

I thought about one, but went with a Neotec in the end

Got a Neotec myself a couple of months ago.........class lid!!

In the market for a new lid at the nec. Tried on the c3pro and it just didn't fit right, tried on the Arai tour x4 and it didn't fit, tried on the shoei neotec and fitted lovely, tried on and bought the shoei hornet adv, wonderful lid and very well made as expected.

I have only ever used normal lids without peaks etc.
Tried the x4 tour at the show and liked it very interested to hear people's views on actually riding with these type of lids.
How does the wind/speed effect the helmet? Doesn't it try and pull your head back?

Also the x4 doesn't have a chin curtian but believe there's one coming out that does if anyone has any insight to that.

I have a Caberg Tourmax, to my knowledge it's the only flip with a peak and sun visor. This time of year the peak is great with the low sun.

People talk about the peaks being a problem but I only ever found minor discomfort when I turned my head away from a straight forward-facing view.

I seem to recall that I read something recently about the Shoei Hornet Adv winning adventure helmet of the year? Was is in Adventure Bike Rider magazine? A friend of mine with one rates it very highly.
