On the road, for now:-)
I am looking at fitting some driving lights to my 1100...............

However as I cannot afford HID's of T/T style lights I wondered if I could fit some usual car style spotlights.
Is there anybody that can advise meon what ones are ideal to use, where and what to mount them to, and also how to wire them up, ie, a seperated switch or to come on with either dipped or high beam. I have seen plenty of 11's out there with large old spots on them.

Any info would be most appreciated.:ukgser:tarka

Hmmm ...

... can't upload the PDF you need (too big apparently) so publish an email address and I'll send you the idiots guide to fitting. As to which ones, try Halfords for 'Ring' spots, they're cheap enough and will do the job. Finding suitable mounts is likely to be your biggest headache :nenau

I got my bar from How Much (Dave) of this very forum, mines fitted with Hella FF50s to work with main beam, I intend to fit something a little smaller to work with dip before next winter, mine are wired via a relay originally operating with main beam, but currently switchable, its mainly for cospicuity rather than illumination since I also have HID Hi Lo unit fitted to the original light, though with th Ff50s set at dipped height it does tend to have a rather pleasing " Red Sea effect" In traffic ;)

bludy ell, theres loads of info, try the font of all wisdom, or search.

basically, if its driving lights , you can wire them through a 3 pin relay into your headlight, so when main beam on, there on, or through dipped up to you.
if you choose fog lights, they have to have a separate switch on the bars so they can only be activated when required.
as oblertone says, halfrauds have a good range of car lights at about £25/ 30 quid, wire, relay and bits £10,

just thought, look in the gs mods section. someone was making light bars for the 1100/1150 nd doing a full light bar and kit with it all pre wired

heres mine if you can see where they are mounted or pm me for better pics etc

Alternatively ...

... you can attach small spots to crash bars using 'P' clips :thumb

But shirley the cost of lights, relays, wiring, brackets and time-to-fit will be more than the cost of an HID kit and will still be markedly inferior.......
