My girlfriend is thinking about getting the new G 650 GS but is only 5ft 1. Phoned around a few dealers to see if they had a demo factory lowered one with no luck.

If anyone has just bought one or one on order would be very much appreciated if she could come and have a sit on it and size it up. I live in Altrincham near Manchester and dont mind travelling say 50 miles or so

Cheers

I take it ...

... you've seen this one ? Jaq's is a bit further away, in West Devon, but I'm sure if you pm her she'll answer any queries. Just don't let her tell you she's 5ft :comfort

Thanks for reply oblertone. It was specifically the new g650 gs she's after sitting on. Had a good look at the twin a few months ago, although its probably just manageable for her wanted to try the g650 gs as its another 15mm lower again.

Hmmm ...

... does the 'new' single F650 come in a factory lowered version, sorry wasn't aware. The 'old' factory lowered single was exactly the same height as the lowered twin; don't know if that helps but if she fits the twin then the single should be ok. Good luck :thumb

As the new 650 is nearly identical to the original except for the clocks and panels,my wife is 5'2" and she can get both feet on the floor the only downside is the centre stand can deck out on occasions.
One benefit of the single is a decent seat which the twin lacks.

Have a look at my post in this thread http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264442 In it I explain whay can be done to lower a standard F650GS which is essensially the same bike.

I've lowered three 650 singles all for women one 5'3" the other 5'1" both with a 29" inside leg. One, my other half, had two 650s. She now rides an R100GS which I managed to lower by 5 inches with the only part changed being the rear shock.

The 650 singles are really adaptable and easily lowered, or even raised if you prefer the Dakar. The only difference between all three models is the rear shock, the fork stansions, the front wheels (Dakar 21") and the seats.

Thanks for advice, more confident now she wont have much of a problem getting her feet down, just need to convince her to go get one now

cheers
