Hi all,

The nickname's Snoopy or realname Andy. I'm 22  and I bought a 1150GS to replace a curvy SV650. Many 22 year olds driving around on GS's? I think not. :) .

I have to say how brilliant the bike is in every way. It's heavy to pickup (dropped it about 5 times in the last week now!) but quality is awesome; engine bars take the fall nicely.

I'd like to start meeting some of you bearded, tweed jacket BM' riders since I've clearly outgrown the SV650 possy. I'm near the M1 J9 in a town called Markyate and am very eager to take the thing off-road!

Some quick questions for ya...

My GS (non adv) doesn't appear to have pannier rails, should it?
Where is the best place to buy a System 4 helmet or would you recommend others?

Please invite me to rideouts ;)
Cheers,

Andy

Welcome to the madhouse Andy.. just put me pipe down for long enough to reply... ;) You'd be surprised at the amount of kit available in tweed with CE armour....

Would have thought that the pannier rails would be purchased at the same time as the panniers, as i've often seen them advertised as a job lot..

As far as the system 4 is concerned, i personally prefer Shoei Synchrotec's... but its all down to personal preference..

Nip down to your local BWM dealer, try one, and compare it to other makes.. then make your mind up......

Bryn (Old Git)

Selfridges first floor are doing a good deal on Harris Tweed jackets at the moment.

Now listen Andy... you're far too young to have a GS, so I think you should give it away to an older chap (not me I've got one) and get a youngsters bike.. one of those sports jobbies should do.. OK?

Andy

best give a call round to the dealers nearest to you - probably Park Lane or Prestige (Bexleyheath) and try on a system IV or V...

And get yourself over to the next South East meet at the Plough Inn at Eynsford... :)
