New member, new bike on order.

I didn't order the shift assist, but am curious how well it works and if I would like it. Let us know what you think?

Jim

its wonderful Jim.

Can feel pretty manic at times , but does allows the rider to be very focused on the task ahead

Well collected my bike last week and very pleased with it.
The gear assist is great, takes a bit of time to master it.
Have found it best to shift up early from 1st to second otherwise I get a bit of a lurch forward, getting better at it now (250 miles).
Changing down I find it best not to change gear and brake at the same time.
Sounds fantastic blipping the throttle on down changes.
Thanks to everyone who advised me to get the gear assist.
One thing I have noticed, quite a clonk into first from neutral, is this normal ?, doesn't it improve with miles ?.

Most get used to the clonk. A few don't, they curse and swear at the bike, force the dealer to change the oil, the gearbox and then the engine. It's much easier just to accept it as a characteristic feature.
