I have a Meta on my bike, i had it fitted, cost me around £300 3 years ago, no problems at all. I also had one fitted to my car, with no problems, and my previous bike also had one fitted and never had any problems.
If i was getting an alarm i would get another Meta without hesitation.

Ahh, that sounds better, had the Meta fitted yesterday by Dave in Romford. Ask him to fit a data tool and he will do it, ask him which his favourite is and he will reply Meta. He used to work for Spyball and been around for years and does this type of work on a daily basis. Liked the three year official warranty with Meta and i told him that I needed the bike for an immediate call out ( Live news) so reliability is a first
He also fits trackers, but we agreed that the cops are under siege (and paper) so don't expect them to bother too much about a stolen bike. When I was burgled , the cops turned up but then got a call to hot foot it to a gun incident.
Incidentally, feckin Tom Tom Rider2 gave me a bit of a run around Dagenham yesterday. Likewise, the Rider 2 tried to turn me into the two lanes of oncoming traffic outside the new Olympic site in Stratford.
On the lock side of things, my local shop was burgled the shutters were held down by six locks. Amazing what plumber's pipe freezing kits can do to a lock. Going to a serious locksmith in Greenwich, (Trafalger Locks) - getting expensive now.
£250 for the Meta
£50 for the front disk lock.
Probably another £75 + for a lock with a rolling lock pin. I have a meaty chain but not sure how this would stand up to a freezing kit.
Oh yes , need another lock for my new Cannondale SL racing bike should the insurance cough up . It was stolen outside Decathlon sports centre in Rotherhithe ( "Surrey Keys" to the luvvies). This bike was only ever left locked outside once for 15 minutes with the store security guard standing some 30 feef away. Gone ! The guard was half asleep but called his mate over after I blew a fuse and felt my hands moving towards his neck when he told me that it was not his responsibility and the security camera was not working.
All of the above is true and it's not going to get any better. Crime pays, so watch your backs folks. Worked with the cops on a documentary, one of them told me that somebody had converted a Renault van (rear axle somehow moved) which reversed over a bike with doors open and hoisted the bike up. I think they said the roof was lead lined. If a tracker was found it would be parcelled up and put in the the post to some obscure destination.
Found out that you can concoct a form of Napalm by slowly boiling petrol and washing powder together. I can't get automatic weapons on E bay. Anybody want to try the boiling method first and see if it works?
Then, we can move on to rigging up some device where it erupts and makes an holy mess of light fingers.
