New model Vario luggage lock barrels

Visiting a Motarrad dealer yesterday to aquire some wafers and springs to re-key my old style varios,
the conversation got around to the new varios (not sure about the GSA versions) but I was told that the barrels
are not removable
So you would have to have a blank key if the were you to buy some 2nd hand

Bit weird, hope he was wrong or the 2nd hand market for the new varios would be a pain
Other option is for the luggage to stay with the bike when sold

They are definitely removable.

The dealer keyed my wife’s barrels whilst we waited and didn’t quite manage to do it correctly. Took them back out of the panniers in the dealership in front of us and fixed it.
