New Modification Project

Well the final bits landed this week so I spent a day or so in the garage… Forks filled, brakes bled, two aluminium brackets made up and mudguard painted and fitted with carbon fibre part. Everything now tightened up, but need a new rear tyre before I can test ride it and get it MOT’d before the end of Sept.

To say I’m pleased with the visual result would be an understatement… IMO, it looks great and I’ll be happy if it goes as well as it did before, but I think the thicker/stiffer forks and better brakes will just add to it.

I’ll get some wider, better pics once I can get it out of the garage and I have a carbon fibre fender extender in its way, to see how that looks 😊

I couldn’t believe it..!! A dry afternoon and no jobs handed to me by my Wife, so I’ve wheeled it out to set up the tyre changer and fitted a new Dunlop.

Sunday looks like an opportunity for a test ride and to bed in the brake pads.

Someone lied..!! They said it would be wet today but it’s been ok here in the North West so I got the bike out for a shakedown ride.

Oh my… This is an amazing result, like buying a new bike that feels like my favourite armchair. It rides so velvety smooth, totally planted and the brakes are nicely progressive with a serious finish that I swear would put me up over the top of the front wheel if I ask too much. Obviously, it’s a long time since I had working ABS so removing the front sensor was no big issue.

I popped into Bowkers to thank them for letting me loose with a tape measure on their display stock.

This was the result of a ‘gentle bimble’ around my local lumpy and potholed lanes on a new rear tyre…
