New Multi V4

Better all make your minds up quickly and order them and get them delivered before BREXIT. If BoJo doesn't get his act together and get a banging deal sorted we might all be riding Triumphs because EU bikes may well go up in price.

Dunno, maybe its just me who feels a bit stale with the whole adventure bike thing and a bit been there done it .. :nenau

I think the big interesting feel factor that I would want to experience and investigate for myself would be the 44T conversation about the 19'' front not feeling like a 19''. Ive got to admit that going back to 17" after six or seven years of 19 and 21"'s was just super refreshing, and I don't want to come away from that super grippy feel at the moment. But if they say it works .....

I still think the ace card the current model has is the fact that you could put super sticky tyres on it and ride it like a super moto. How many people will off road on this? and is going to 19" a compromise too far for the 95% of road biased riders ..??

Same here. After having a load of adventure bikes, I went for the Multi as I wanted the upright riding position in a sportier bike. I’ve zero interest in taking a bike bike off-road. And now they’ve turned the new one into an Adventure bike. :blast

I didn’t get on with the original screen or seat on mine, so fitted the PP screen and a comfort seat which solves any negatives I had. And with proper sticky rubber, it’s the best handling bike I’ve had.

The reviewers so far seem to think that you can’t tell the difference with a 19” front wheel. I’ll take that with a pinch of salt, but doubt the tyre companies will be producing any sticky rubber for it, as they haven’t bothered with the GS, and look how many of those get sold.

Ive only watched the Bennets and 44T videos posted here, but Ive got to say ..... I'm not sitting here thinking ... Damn .... Ive been a bit hasty (I'm picking up a Tuono Factory on Wednesday ... !).

It looks good, but nobody (ok, two journos!) seems to be saying .... WOW !! FUCK !! That is just fucking awesome ...

Good points from someone who is more qualified than most.
I know what you mean about being done with the adventure bike thing .
I don’t see the point of spending around £20k on a big adventure bike, especially if you only ever ride solo and especially if you don’t use panniers.
There are bikes out there that are much more fun, such as the Tuono.
Not ridden one but I bet it’s fabulous.Out of interest, did you ride the 2020 1290SDR or Streetfighter V4S or just go straight for the Aprilia ?
Post up pics when you get it.

I didn't. The toss up was always going to be between the 1290GT and the Tuono. On paper the GT makes sense with panniers, larger tank range, better pillion set up for the occasional trip with her indoors, but sometimes you just gotta go with your heart! (and .... I'll keep the 790 Duke for local spanking - it is still a cracking back road bike, and ive also had KTM's for the last five or six years now so fancy a bit of a change) :thumb2

The plan will be a third bike in the future for chilled out touring. Maybe even a Harley !!

Do it !!
I love my RKS and it was a shame to do the Vercors solo this summer due to covid.

Can’t see the point of a 160/170bhp adventure bike as I’d rather tour on something to enjoy the view and then have something else for hooning.

Just to add, I think the Tuono 660 will be a cracker, given the reviews for the RS660.

The whole point of riding a 160bhp Adv Bike is so you can fly past everything at 100mph on the rush to race home and tell everyone what at hero you are! :doris

I think that to put things into perspective ....

One of the appeals of big CC / big BHP is that if you to do tour on it, maybe two up, lots of luggage and weight, its never going to get stressed and will always feel very lazy and capable, which itself isn't a bad thing.

For as nice a bike as say an 1150 is, you would soon feel its limitations on the homeward leg of your last mile munch day, 350 miles into a head wind, two up, all those souvenirs your wife bought!

Horses for courses I guess - sometimes a little bike is great fun to thrash (very much my feelings on the Duke 790, although I rarely hit the throttle stop on the back roads) and sometimes big CC/BHP have that in-destructible feel about them where what ever you throw at them they cope .... :thumb2

Tuono factory sure is a visceral experience , even over the SF imho , and I rode them back to back .
The Ape was great and had the edge for me , especially the noise , and the price difference is significant

I have just priced up a V4 using the Ducati site £24,950!! Makes getting a new GSA, with all my bits and bobs from my 1200GSA, look like a steal. Sure do like the sound of the V4 engine though.

Another review by someone I’ve just come across, ooh err, missus......

She’s like Itchy Boot’s naughty German cousin.

Blond or Brunette ? I’ll go brunette, ta :arselick:

She’s not as confident in front of the lens as Itchy but kind of endearing and rather cute.

I had a Crosstourer and this looks too much like it to be worth considering.

Seriously? That sounds like £6k too rich IMO. If we're not careful we'll have a full spec 1290 adv for £20k in a minute. That'll be worth half that if you're fortunate 2 years later.

Seems fine for ones who are prepared to buy new. But I do wonder how many folks will pay £19/20k for a year old £25k Multi. I doubt many would. So they'll end up at £16/17k second hand after a year and that's a killer if you buy new and then swap to the new GS Boxer4 next year
