New Multi V4

Seriously? That sounds like £6k too rich IMO. If we're not careful we'll have a full spec 1290 adv for £20k in a minute. That'll be worth half that if you're fortunate 2 years later.

Seems fine for ones who are prepared to buy new. But I do wonder how many folks will pay £19/20k for a year old £25k Multi. I doubt many would. So they'll end up at £16/17k second hand after a year and that's a killer if you buy new and then swap to the new GS Boxer4 next year

You can spend similar on a GS/ GSA. Prices are only going one way.

10 minutes on the config and this would be my choice. Still £5k less than a Goldwing and it does sound pretty awesome to ride.

Edit: That rear wheel mud/rain guard looks terrible. I bet it bounces around all over the place. Prefer the look of the previous bike at the back TBH. I guess that’s a consequence of a long swing arm.

Fixed.

£24k - that's a hefty price tag.

Do Ducati have the same habit as KTM appear to, in that starting at a high price on release and then shortly afterwards discount it heavily? Is that figure of £24k down to say £19k in February or a bit later?

This would be my choice.

All the essentials and a reasonable price compared to its competitors. :thumb2

Trade in the beige turd ?

I’d miss the 30 litre tank and equally massive “road presence”.

Anyway shouldn’t you be revelling in the fact that my beige turd is still in production whilst Nuttys awesome squeeze is now consigned to the parts bin? :P

I could do .
I’d rather revel in the fact that Slutty is moaning all over the internet that the V4 has killed the Multi and his is the last real one .... ever, yet will have a V4 Sport in his garage by August 21. Dead cert ! :-)

Poor Nutty.

It’s like finding the woman of your dreams and at the same time as your bending down on one knee to propose marriage she is keeling over with a coronary or something. :D

Nope, they don’t. They normally run promotions chucking in £1k of accessories or rider gear most of the time.

Moaning all over the Internet? :nenau

Fancy a little wager on that? £1k says I won’t have one by August 21.

I think Ducati have got that right with decent accessories included FOC (I got a touring pack which included metal panniers worth £1500 included FOC with my MSE) rather than the KTM model of savage discounting of new stock which only damages the residual value of existing models.

They have, and it’s quite refreshing, compared to the Dutch auction that is KTM.

I got the 'touring pack' gratis with my 1190R (panniers, heated grips, bash plate and some other shit) which was worth £1500 plus I got £1500 of list :)

You guys just need to keep your bikes longer than a month.

Don’t be daft.
Of course you’d still have it if there was a grand on it.
But I’ll bet you £100 to any charity that you won’t still have it in Spring 2024, when the warranty expires, like you’ve said elsewhere.
I bet you’ve never owned a bike out of warranty.

For as nice a bike as say an 1150 is, you would soon feel its limitations on the homeward leg of your last mile munch day, 350 miles into a head wind, two up, all those souvenirs your wife bought!

.... :thumb2

Oi ....

I’m sure I probably won’t have it in 2024. But you said it’ll be gone by August next year.

I’ve owned quite a few bikes out of warranty, you’ve no idea.

And you said

Not really. I’ve got the last of the proper Multistradas, it’s got a 4 year warranty, so I’ll enjoy it until it dies.

So you’re expecting the bike to die before the warranty expires ?
