New Multi V4

A friend of mine snapped a banjo string many moons ago.........fierce painful apparently!!

(just thought I'd throw that in)

S20 5G sent this......

Thanks for all your help!

Sent from my moto g(6) play using Tapatalk

My pleasure. I actually own several Banjoleles (banjo Uke hybrid with four strings whereas a proper banjo has 5 strings)

I therefore know nothing about banjos. :D

The Multistrada section on the Ducati Forum is currently full of folks moaning and bitching about how Ducati have sold out with the V4 Multi... like how Ducati buyers are a special breed and their precious brand should listen only to them and treat them better... blah blah :comfort

It’s laughable but a bit sad at the same time.

Just my opinion of cause!

The Ducati forum should be avoided at all costs

They get on my tits

AS for Ducati selling out some would argue that they did that when Audi bought them

I personally saw that as a good thing, let the Eyeties do the design and character stuff and let ze Germans take care of the engineering. The end result being a stylish and great bike with a decent level of reliability ( compared to pre Audi)

AS i said the V4 multi may well be a great bike I am just not keen on it personally

There’s a few on there that talk bollox.
RichT001 is hilarious.

Always moaning how the V4 has ruined the brand and has turned the Multi into a GS.

He also posts how he’s blacked out various bits of his bike and that the 15th different exhaust for his 1260 is brilliant.....:-)

Reminds me of someone on here but can’t think who :-)

All that shows is Ducati's marketing is spot on and has sold an image very successfully. No different to Harley, or KTM for that matter :thumb

To me a Ducati IS a trellis frame, air cooled v-twin & desmo :)

Correct Mr. Ginger!

That's why I love my 1098 air-cooled 2013 desmo Monster!

If you want to have ride like you were an 18 year old that's the one I have that does the business!

My R90S is for different purposes!

You seem to have a very weird obsession, on the brink of stalking. Why are you following me all over the internet?

I'm very flattered that you spend time following me around, however, I'm happily married.

Maybe try getting out more, as it's getting a bit creepy now. :comfort

For your information, I’ve been a member of the Ducati forum for many years.
I had my first Ducati before you’d even passed your test.
I don’t go on there often but have been for the last year or so, to see what was being said about the Streetfighter, and more latterly, the V4.
And I gradually noticed a few people bemoaning the V4, saying that it was going to ruin the Multistrada, and dilute their beloved brand.
And then I realised one of the main protagonists was indeed you, which made me laugh, seeing as you’ve only had a Ducati for a few months yet spoke on the forum like you’d been a loyal Ducatisti for years. That’s all.
But like Rick said, it’s boring.

What difference does it make if I’ve had Ducati’s for 5 minutes or had Ducati’s for 10 years? You keep on mentioning that I’ve had one for six months, but who cares? There’s a reason why I bought a Ducati, they’re moving in a different direction, which I and many others don’t like. Now go and find someone else to bore.

Matters not.
It’s just mildly amusing how you transfer brand allegiance then virtually take over the associated forum.
Now go spend the evening with your happily married wife rather than on here/Ducati/KTM forum :-)

Another review here.Don’t think it’s been posted but apologies if it has :

Chad is a pretty good rider and very experienced journo.
He makes some good points.Ducati certainly seem to have made the bike more rounded.Yes, a few loyal owners are bitching but I reckon it’ll bring in a whole new fan base.
The previous multis are too focussed.Yes, the latest 1260 is a good bike but it still appeals to a limited audience.
The new bike seems to have addressed issues like the crap TFT and screen. That cubby hole looks great.Even the blind spot detection looks well thought out and put into practice. If you ride in groups or just when there’s traffic, I can see that being very useful.
The radar cruise looks like it also works very well. It’s not something I would use often as don’t tend to use motorways and if I do then they are normally autoroutes and half empty.
But for you lot in the UK I can see it being useful.I’d certainly rather pay for that than an SOS button !!
The new engine should make the bike much nicer to use, with more poke and smoothness for the loss of a tiny bit of mid-range but no more twin rattles and lumpiness.
Obviously a test ride is the only way to see if it suits and individual, but the old model was never a big seller compared to the GS etc, so I think Ducati may have a winner on their hands and a larger piece of the adventure pie.

Edited to add, in 2019 BMW sold close to 60,000 GSs.Ducati sold 12000 Multis so one fifth....Honda sold about 30000 Africa Twins....

Ride Mag’s take on the V4 (obviously biased,innit !! :-)
