New Multi V4

its just the forks that weight heavy with me at the moment as the tele is so good.
Test ride will make my mind up as the covid break and advancing years , maybe a change , lets see. Thanks for the post as not seen it yet

Exactly my thoughts and sentiments. Not forgetting the chain v shaft issue although I think I could over that tbh. I’d be interested to see how the v4 copes with some the B road surfaces I like to hoon around on the GSA.

Take one out you might be surprised, I've had GS and GSA s for nearly 20 years, now on a Multistrada I've adapted to the conventional skyhook suspension and chain maintenance isn't the chore you might imagine with a modern x ring chain so I've adapted to that as well, I needed a change and I've got it and I'm enjoying it.

Just been told mine isn't even on the road from Italy yet.

Meant to be March delivery but it takes two weeks from factory so thats not happening. Was planning on going mental April 1st.

With what's going in the world right now I guess its small beans. Frustrating though as the 1290 is now uninsured so thats locked away safe in the garage looking nice but unusable.

Might be worth checking the oil seal issue has been fixed on your bike before collecting it ;)
Some poor soul on the Ducati forum had their bike drop all its oil down the street after 25 miles , its allegedly the same seal that goes on the V4 panigale .
Having had a Gen 1 Multi myself I can say that Ducati were pretty good with the small issues I had with mine on 2015 , which was more than could be said about the Gen 1 KTM 1190 I bought , that wasn't good at all..

Appreciate your note. I've asked what this is all about.

The news of the moment:

Just had a call from the dealer - All Multistrada's in production have been placed on hold owing to a component failure. Doesn't sound safety critical as demo bikes can continue to be used. Should hear more by the end of the week.

Depending what it is, I have no issue waiting.

Reminds me of the 2014 BMW RT suspension issue - similar scenario. And, of course, the BMW front fork fiasco! Just thought I'd say this before Beemerphiles start laughing out loud :blast

There's always room for a few "I never buy new model bikes for this reason" comments though.....:D

It’ll be a sweet bike , it’s never stopped me and I’d do it again.
You’d have thought because they had a similar issue on the Panigale , that the project teams would have exchanged notes.
They are probably in the same office .
Least they know how to fix it ;)
The plant has allegedly had some COVID issues too , but it’s back up and running now

If you sulk a lot they are pretty good at making sure you are happy :hippy

So... It's a valve guide issue.

The affected bikes will get new engines and no doubt some good compensation offered!

My bike hasn't been made yet so for me it's a decision as to whether I wait. Priority will be the bikes out there already, then the assembled and not delivered ones, then my bike would be some time after that. Dealers will do the engine swaps on registered bikes by the sound of things.

Pretty disappointing but I'm glad my order will be a factory fix. It's made me a little uncomfortable about progressing if I'm honest.

How the hell does a manufacturer get that wrong in this day and age?
