So it’s true, a new dealership will be opening on the outskirts of Norwich soon.

Is that a car dealership now taking on bikes?

I think it’s the one at Easton, Tim who used to be in Lind in Parts is going there from Seastars and he has a 1250 he rides all the time, so hopefully they will employ bike people like him.

I remember him working at Lind,an excellent fellow really knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for him.
I believe he rode a S1000RR while there.

Honda did this many years ago at John Banks Dealership, so it's not a new thing.

Very much BMW's business model now. Sytner never had bikes but had to concede to the mothership when they took over the likes of Rybrook (Shrewsbury & Wolverhampton) and are expanding with the new Motorrad section in Cardiff. They dropped bikes in Cardiff 20 years ago when they took over Rydales so I imagine a degree of arm twisting was involved to bring them back.
Some make it work well like Cotswold but the operation there gives the impression you are in a solus bike dealer, even though the parking and workshop space underground is shared. That is the benefit of moving into a purpose built space rather than squeezing bikes into a corner in the car showroom and sharing a coffee lounge with the SUV driving coffin dodgers.

20 minutes from me, but I doubt I will ever visit them as my last BMW is a distant memory

It will be very much to the detriment of service at Seastar. It was a disaster before Tim went there, to say the least. I saw their ad for a Service Manager and guessed he had made the jump. Good for him (I hope).

Any news when it's opening?
I'd rather ride to Norwich than Welwyn when The Gentleman's Express needs it's next service, had a look on Google but can't see fuck all about it.

Was speaking to the new DP tonight, they were hoping to open the 1st of October but he doesn’t think the building will be ready in time. So sometime in October is my best guess.

Thanks for the heads up.

The dealership is not where I thought it was going to be, just off Hall road near the Porsche dealer

Can’t agree more with that statement.

Update on this, they open on the 1st of October for servicing and spares out of the car dealership then move to a showroom in March. All at the same location opposite long water business park.

Thanks for the update. Considering another BMW, but the prospect of no local support was a bit off putting. Having said that, was quite happy going to Reiten. Cheers

I popped in to the showroom today and got chatting to a lovely lady named Claire. She confirmed an official Motorrad presence is coming. It’s likely to be Feb ‘26 really though. Currently fitting out the workshop with ramps etc.
They will be moving into the adjacent building for bike sales, used to be the Bravo car sales building that you pass as you enter the site.
Currently 1 x bike in car showroom

They have some Demo models, S1000RR, K1600 & R18 that I recall, after parking next to them!

They have no direct dial phone line, no webpage, emails, she doesn’t have a business card yet, but they are keen to fill the gap in the region…. They do have Tim as mentioned above and an ex-Lind Service Tech.

Was speaking with Tim today. They are raring to go. Got a few demo bikes there already. Good to have a Motorradd presence around here again. Might even tempt me back from Ducati.
