Afternoon

TBH after many years discounting owning a GS I started "researching" on the internet and started to change my view ... roll on and I'm now the owner of a 2004 1150 GSA

Handling / riding / comfort are all a bit of a revalation TBH and I'm enjoying it so far.

No doubt there will be some stupid questions in the future but for now a picture

Thanks

Simon

I’ll put a fiver on you not being able to find a more stupid question than we’ve already asked on here, we are very good at them (y)

Bike looks in good nick.

We will see :)

It runs fantastically - very quiet and only done 26k with last owner for 20yrs .... condition wise it isn't mint but is pretty good

Welcome Simon. I know how you feel I bought my 1st 1150 in 2016 and as Ged Jack others will come and go but I still have one in my garage. Regarding questions ask away you won't find a better bunch of misfits who can help. Keep an eye on the Classifieds here there's always bits coming up for sale to farkle your bike.

Mine , bought after a 12 year break on newer BMW 's, I had to have one back in the garage and is my current go to bike , new suspension is next on the list 20240420_100828.jpg

Silver indicator bulbs and clear lenses next. :thumb2
And a rear splash guard thingy.
I bought the splash guard but it doesn't quite line up with the single hole on the casing ... and I couldn't decide if you leave the black BMW two holed plate thing on or not .........

1 step forward and 1 back .... fitted a rear splash guard thingy and then thought I'd go for an evening spin ........

Flat battery .... just repeated click click click with the headlight dimming

Shame as a new one was fitted at service

Hey ho - on charge

It could well be the starter motor, if the battery is new!
Charge battery up and then test how much the starter motor pulls down a new battery, whilst cranking over
Use a multi meter
Mine did it
New battery & turns out it was the starter motor too last year (expensive last year - new battery & Valeo starter motor, plus 2 new genuine BMW coil sticks …..🙈)
