Hi all,

Well, I have been thinking about it for a while now and at last I did it today !!!

The CBR1000RR was getting too uncomfortable as I got older and the rides became longer. My hooning around the road on Saturdays and Sundays are over and I want to travel to far off places (Birmingham and Norwich) :)....and maybe more exotic locations.

Went over to 'North Oxford Garage', purely for a look around you understand. Started off looking at the GS and THEN................I saw a gorgeous GSA (2007)........quite high mileage 18000...but in fantastic condition and sounds really tight. Then guess who walks in as I was doing the deed..............the previous owner!!!! What a coincidence eh?

Got chatting and looked over his new red GSA....so Paul if you should ever read this.thanks for looking after your bikes so well. I promise to keep up the tradition.

I am off to The Horizons Unlimited meeting on Thursday and North Oxford are getting the bike ready for me for Wednesday.................Many thanks Steve and thanks to the Service guy (sorry forgot name) who turned down all offers of strange practices and squeezed the inspection into a really tight schedule out of the kindness of his heart.

So.........anyone who sees a Champagne coloured 07 GSA at the meeting and the rider has a mile wide grin.that will be me.......come up and say hi.....I have lots to learn.

Hi Ian, and welcome to UKGSer :beerjug: A nice intro....

I got fed up of a stiff back as well.... now its a GS or nothing ;)

Hello and welcome, I'm a new GSER too - they're grrrreatt aren't they? :beerjug:

Many thanks chaps..................I am really looking forward to picking the bike up (not in the literal sense you understand).......well hopefully not anyway!!!

Thanks for the good wishes.

Ian

Welcome

I have had my GS nearly two years

Still love it and have the same grin I had when I took it for test ride.

No regrets:rob

Many thanks all for the welcome.

I thought the mileage was high (18000) and a year old but to be honest it is in such good condition and I got the remainder of the warranty (12 months) it shouldn't be a problem.

The old owner said he used it for touring so I guess the miles are 'good miles' !!!! :)

The engine sounds really good.

Ian

Welcome

Hi there,
I would not worry about the miles, you will add many more, cause when you ride it you won't want to get off. I could walk to work but I use the bike and take a detour morning and evening. This August I am doing my first eurotour, I can't wait, that will be you soon the GLOBETROTTER. Have fun!

Dont worry about the miles, my 06 1200 has just done 33000. Every mile by me and its running sweeter every day.

Welcome aboard.
