Scuffed my hat a few weeks ago so while I'm off the bike I thought I'd get it painted. The standard paint jobs are race reps and too leery, but I was fed up with plain black.

Here's the result - dead chuffed:D

Looks well

do you think you could be a POWER RANGER when you wear it

Very nice :thumb. Does it match the bike?

Bike's yellow with side panel,so pretty much it does.

Dead chuffed:thumb - the guy who did it listened to what I wanted and came up with the design you see. Local to me, too. Dearer than buying one of the race reps but at least it's individual.

Nice job, can I be rude and ask how much?

Bob

250 of your English pounds. Seemed reasonable, I got a few quotes and the fancy jobs run to lots more than that. Could probably have got it cheaper but only from paint shops that were a long way away and I wanted to talk to them face to face about it first.
Shoei X-spirit in black cost me £360 plus £250 for the paint job is £510, and the painted race-reps go for about £480. I'm happy with that:thumb2

Really like the design/colour scheme :thumb

Is a 'special' paint used? I just wondered whether there are any issues with particular paint types (well the solvents used) having the potential to damage the integrity of the helmet material?

Thanks:thumb. Dunno whether special paint is needed, they paint lots of helmets so I just left it to them.
One thing has occured to me, though, which is that I've lost my ACU Gold sticker. I did a track day last year and they did check. Anyone know where I can get another one?

Replacement ACU Gold sticker

Ebay if you want to get fleeced! - here - £10.50 inc P&P :mcgun
I wonder whether they really are genuine stickers...I bet the ACU would be interested in his little business (he's sold loads!)

...or contact the ACU (might be interesting to see what they have to say on painting helmets?;-)

More details please?

Looks really good, are you at liberty to provide his details? Am interested in doing a similar thing to a really comfy Arai that has a few minor scrapes. A teephone number and name will do??
Cheers - Andy:beerjug:

I'm sure he won't mind a bit of publicity:thumb2

Revolution, based in Reading on 0118 957 4577, the guy's name is Gary, I think.

Post back and let us know how you get on.
