Saw the following on Ebay - never heard of them before..... "Ard Cases" :nenau

Item: 160148789638 (£250 buy-it-now)

Look to be well made and not a whole lot of money.

[I have no connection at all with the vendor or the product manufacturer:nono]

To be honest, I wondered how they lasted on ebay so long :nenau

Anyone tried the mobile number you can see on the bottom of the pic?

Not spoken to him but had loads of emails back n forth with Roger about my requirements. Seems a very helpfull chap. Looking forward to getting the panniers will be using a set of Givi rails to mount them. Will post pics once their on.

new panniers

Ive had some Ard Cases for a while now, I met a friend of the maker on a ride to Timboctou last Jan, and was impressed, they are very very well made and extremely strong being 4ml thick ally and all welded by hand by the maker, if you have an 1150adv he also can make a rack which is also bomb proof, or if you take your bike to him hell build you a bespoke rack,
The guy is very flexable and if you contacted him he could custom build to your spec.
My boxes have been absolutely brilliant and although there are no claims about waterproofness, have not let a drop in.
The boxes arent the prettiest but for £250 the are a BARGAIN!! HIGHLY RECOMENDED.:Motomartin:Motomartin

I've just had a reply to an email I sent him. They're made from 2mm ali apart from the inner face and the bottoms.I presume this means he uses a heavier gauge here but he didn't make that clear. They weigh approx. 6kg. each - anyone know how that compares? I've looked on other manufacturers websites but can't see any weights shown.
He also confirmed that he can make them to any size.
Edit:They're powder coated inside and out.

Mmm............ who knows - he may be able to make bespoke topboxes etc? :nenau

He should maybe think about a "range" of fixed sizes (a la MetalMule).
