New project

Nice powder coating. Looks mint
Yes fair doo... he's done a smashing job on it.

Bit more done today
Engine block clean up and started cleaning up the forks. Stancions are good. Will pop in a set of seals and some fresh oil this week.
Someone has already put a set of progressive springs in it which is a bonus.
Will need a new set of covers as they have disintegrated.
Should have ordered a shed load of new bits while the frame was away but been flat out with work this week.

Having the time to be able to do this project is one thing. (AND I guess that I guess having the financial resources is another...).... But beyond all of that is having both the skills and determination to do this - and in this regard, I offer you my respect.

Bit of the wiring loom back on the frame.
Centre stand refitted.
bracket for the side stand was scruffy, so knocked up a new one out of a bit of stainless.
Everything is going back together with nice new stainless bolts 🙂

Got some bits painted up also.
All done in 2 pac satin black.
Front engine casing, rocker covers, top engine cover, mirrors and all the hand controls striped and painted.

May as well get these bits done why the cylinders and have gone of to check the nicasil coating.

Stripped and rebuilt the front brake master cylinder. Brake fluid goes like glue when left for a long time.

Polished up all the shiny bits on the items I painted yesterday.
Head covers were a bit tatty and scratched on this. I have painted them for now but will look out for a decent set at some point and re do them.

You know its time to service the forks when to tip out the oil and it looks like this 😂

It's also the first time I have ever had the pressure washer inside the fork legs to wash them out.

All striped down cleaned up and waiting on seals which will be here tomorrow. Have to say these are possibly the easiest forks I have ever worked on.

Forks finished with new seals and 10 weight oil. Ready to go back in.

Onto the bodywork today as I'm waiting on parts.
Few small dents in the tanks to sort out.
Paint work was not actually that bad but as I'm now at the stage I am with the bike I'd it would have bugged me that it wasn't perfect.
Dents filled and spot primed. All re flatted down.
Ready for a fresh coat of paint tomorrow as long as I get time 🙂

Vapour blasted a few bits as they were still a bit scruffy.
Look better now.

Fully stripped carbs and they have been ultrasonic cleaned. Complete jet kit and seals installed, new external springs as I can't stand rusty fastenings.
