Make sure you get your £500 worth of goodies BMW offered for the hassle of replacing them. I did. As for the ones that think leaking breaks are not a big issue and get on with your life...Just ignore them. Their advice alone is telling.

The something for nothing brigade. Pathetic.

Look on it as BMW buying customer brand loyalty rather than the customer seeking compensation for a poor and avoidable experience ! :augie

Well aren’t I the smug one..... my first GS was a 2010 TC often thought to be the tried and tested (by the beta testers:green gri) and my second one is a March 2017 so I have aced it. :thumb2

Just as well seeing as your nearest reputable dealer involves a boat ride.

Your not wrong there Arsey! looking at a bimble to Rennes next year now that my 2 year 'service' deal has ended.......

That’s exactly where I would go if I had a BMW under warranty . The few people I know with newish bikes either go there or CW in Dorchester.
Highly unlikely I’ll need to as my GSs are 10 and 30 years old and the likelihood of me ever buying a new one is minuscule , unless they change the design/build quality/reliability etc :-)

Aren’t you the one that also thought we shouldn’t be starting posts about such problems ? Are you on BMW’s payroll or something or just trolling?

You had an issue on your new bike - that you didnt know about, or check for 600 miles. It was the dealer that found it, rectified it without charge under the terms of the warranty & even lent you a replacement bike in the mean time. You praised them on here.

Yet you still wanted free stuff/compo for the hassle/distress/emotional heartache - for the issue you didnt know existed.

No, im not on bmws payroll but folk who stick their hand out wanting something for nothing make me sick. You have shown your type by then hastily advising others to follow your Jeremy Kyle example.

Are you going to demand i send you a free hanky for upsetting you?

And if the same thing happened with your brand new M3 or M5 BMW would have done the same thing but to appease the customer they would be offering free servicing packages and all sorts of freebies to keep you quiet.

They are fixing an safety related issue which should NEVER have occured in the first place

No, personally i wouldn't and havent. Im sure we are all different. Im taking my car in today for a small warranty issue but im not the type to demand free stuff because something went wrong. These vehicles have a warranty, if the manufactures knew they would never fail they wouldn't have a warranty.

If, using your logic they gave away all sorts of freebies "to keep you quiet" then that didn't really work did it? Here we are on a public forum with the Op suggesting others should go begging.

The actual issues with the bike/product are one thing, what im talking about is the expectation that people think they deserve something because their product failed.

The warranty is there to protect consumers by law.

If they were not compelled to give a warranty do you think they would ?

When your car goes in for the warranty repair today, will you be accepting or rejecting your caffeine bribe ?

I didn’t ask for it, I’m not the Op of this topic and if you think that £20k turns to something for nothing then so be it. Just stop preaching please..

Sorry but in all honestly anyone who would rate leaking front brake calipers as a 'minor issue' shouldn't be let loose on public roads in a motor vehicle for both their own and others safety

Worrying, isn't it?

Depends how big the leak is - anyone who would rate KTM weaves and wobbles as a minor issue shouldn’t be let loose on public roads :)

worrying isn’t it?

Ah yes , the famous unstable KTM routine , from the blinkered muppet who’s favourite bike is either on a recall or killing journalists
