Search google for KTM weaves and wobbles, loads of problems.

You keep holding on to that :thumb

The only weaves are at speeds that a GS can only dream of getting to. :comfort And that’s with luggage fitted.

No weaves whatsoever without luggage. ;)

Depends how big the leak is - anyone who would rate KTM weaves and wobbles as a minor issue shouldn’t be let loose on public roads :)

worrying isn’t it?

Any brake fluid leak would be an instant MOT failure whereas motorcycles weaving when way above the legal speed limit wouldn't

PS that video is all down to the front Trail Attack tyre

My GSA would do that as the tyre wore. Rebalanced the tyre and all was good :thumby:

And here’s a high speed one

Seems to be an inherent problem with KTMs - even the 390s do it, real proper tank slippers too.

It’s been going on for years - check the KTM forums - about time these design cock ups were fixed!

If you read the comments in the video the owner said that the dealer fixed the wobble :comfort

Firstly they shouldn’t have to ‘fix’ it and secondly the problem is across their range of bikes, so clearly the issue goes much deeper- probably incorrect frame geometry and/or poor suspension just like 44teeth found. I certainly would risk buying one of their bikes until there is a clear explanation of the cause and what they are doing to solve it.

Yet happy to ride a bike that kills people on the launch . Sums you up !

My 1190 weaved at 110 my new 1290s doesn’t weave whatever they have done its worked.
My dealer said it was to do with the spoked wheels
Genuine 143 on the Nav still pulling no weave . Never had the 1190 that fast it would of killed me.

You have said so several times.
And, based on previous posts, you are referring to an respected journalist that was killed in an accident in 2013.

It has never been proven that the guy crashed and died because of an malfunction of the bike. And yet, you keep claiming such unsubstantiated claims. And your only 'Proof' is that you have 'heard that the widow got some sort of payment' from BMW.

If you read the report, linked to in a few postings back, you will see that there was another named person that was riding behind the unfortunate reporter. There is no mentioning of misbehavior on part of the bike. The report does however claim that the rider riding behind rode so close that he was unable to stop, thus he also crashed, and got injured. Then the report say that this rider may or may not have hit the first rider. The possibility for the guy to get killed by his fellow journalist that hit him when he crashed has not been ruled out. But in stead of throwing the guy under the bus for an terrible unfortunate accident, they left the case open and paid the family.

I can no more prove my claim than anyone else, and this thesis may not be what really happened either.

However, claiming that someone killed somebody else without a shred of proof is a serious matter. But I guess that sums you up...

That bike has an aftermarket screen. Look at the size of the fucking thing.

Try doing a bit more research rather than posting crap, and you’ll find out why that particular bike weaved. To save you looking it up, he also had luggage fitted. ;)

Must agree with Nutty on this one, barn doors, oversize jackets, you name it and you wobble like a jelly, does not matter what bike, it all depends on wind and speed.

Dare I say that you can still get modern bikes to weave and wobble and be downright antisocial depending on a variety of factors including hammering off road like a loon with 3 ft between you and hammering on road like a loon for a photo opportunity?

Mebbe what's needed is bikes like my Yam XS 850, for which a even motorway exit would be enough to provoke antiscocial antics?

I've confidence in both marques and so, by and large, do you lot:thumb2

We've been here before haven't we ? I had to find the 44 Teeth video for you. It was clear that the vid was no more than an advert for the upgraded suspension available for the whole KTM range offered by WP who are owned by KTM and are by no means 'shit'

As pointed out by Nutty the 1290 Adventure in the video had a larger than standard screen fitted and the dealer cured the weave although quite how this was achieved doesn't appear to have been explained by the rider in the comments section

As I've already said. My GSA used to low speed wobble on Trail Attacks as they wore down. The cure being to rebalance the front wheel/tyre. No dramas. No hissy fits. Just a rebalance at my expense !

Now stop being a cnut. There's a good chap :comfort

And where exactly did I claim that somebody killed somebody else ? You’re missing the point as usual to have a grumpy moan at something or someone . But I guess that sums you up !

If someone kills somebody, it usually is somebody else….

Read your own post #170...

I guess English isn’t your first language . So how have you twisted ‘a bike that kills people’ , ie the rider , to someone killing somebody else ???
