New R1250 Rallye with 17” wheels.

OK thanks. Im wondering about not fitting tyre sensors....depending on warning lights and hassle. Only time I had low tyre pressure warning with last GS I was already weaving along the road with a deflated tyre!

I had some BST carbons on a GS and my local bm dealer De-program the tps.

OK, thanks

Needing a service soon anyway and my 1-2 rider plus luggage option has gone from my menu....so a dealer visit would fit in nicely.

Will be around 2000 euro for wheels and tyres.....hmm...

and what are your tyre sizes?

I have a TE basic Rallye on its way to dealer. Didn’t go for tyre sensors as the bike can only link one set of sensors to the bike, so swapping wheels generates the warning light. On other bikes I never needed a sensor to tell me when a tyre was getting soft.

I have just collected my 17” RT wheels after being powder coated high gloss black. Fitted with Michelin Power RS sports tyres 120/70 front 180/55 rear.

Ohlins TTX shocks to be fitted by dealer, so I can use the preload to raise the front by 1” to keep the stance of the bike the same, apart from being loads better than BM shocks inc ESA.

Rocker covers, sump guard, aluminium fairing panels all being done Satin Black. Rear subframe, silver under seat subframe cover and rear black rack support all being painted white.

Pics to follow once bike collected at start of March. Once properly run in and after Remus do some headers for my can it will be a full system and HT.

Sounds nice. I'm a bit tight and trying to keep total cost down lol. Going to bite the bullet and order a set. Look like they are grey on the website, should work well on the Rallye Sport.

This idea started in 2010 after riding a converted 1150 Adv. That thing handled!

Ya mean like this......

Did you see the exclusive that got the gold wheels? both looked drool worthy, initially thought it was a his and hers job!

It was a stroke of luck.
The gold wheels where putting my mate off and there was a guy enquiring about gold wheels for his Exclusive.
It was a win win for everyone concerned!!

They do look good. Its a mystery why BMW persist with the 17/19" wheel combo tbh. Most GS riders stick to tarmac and very, very few that venture off piste need 19" fronts.

A mystery? Really? :blast

My RT had much heavier steering than the few GSs I've ridden, much more so than I would expect from the weight difference. Is this down to the 19" front wheel?
