I’ve just taken my starter off and had it tested and need a new or recon unit. MWorks don’t have any Bosch recon units but do have an Arrowhead unit as a replacement for my.
mK III 2012 Tripple black Adv.

Does anyone have experience of these ? Do they compare well to the Bosch?
Does anyone have a recon unit for sale .?
part No. 12-317-691-956
Many thanks

I fitted an arrowhead starter to my 2011 GSA about 3 years ago. It’s been fine - starts the bike when I ask it to and doesn’t do a lot else. Which is good 😁 The casing is silver not black and it’s a bit longer than the Bosch unit that came off which makes getting it in place a bit more of a wiggle. I got it from West Lancs Auto Electrical nest Preston. £190 iirc

I bought a recon Valeo unit for my RT, a straight swap for the earlier Bosch one, and the extra oomph was very noticeable - £80 delivered, no exchange required, 12m warranty.eBay item number 302952695190.

That sounds good Austin many thanks... MW have it available for £225.00, but I’ve seen it around the £180 mark on eBay so I’ll give West Lancs a call... :okay many thanks

Thanks Pete,
I am advised that for my bike the Valeo and Bosch aren’t interchangeable, but the Arrowhead is a replacement for either...
but I’ll check the eBay route as well..
Much appreciated.

West Lancs Auto electrical did say the Bosch unit I took off “should” be serviceable. It would have depended on what they found when they got into it and if the parts were available from Bosch. It would also take 2-3 weeks to get parts if not off the shelf. Cost depended on parts and time so never got a price plus as I needed the bike up and running quickly I got the arrowhead. If you can have the bike off the road for a few weeks then getting your current starter refurbed may be an option.
