Adventure bike sales led by BMW again, Wasserboxer????
Adventure bike sales led by BMW again, Wasserboxer????

KTM sold more bikes in total than BMW in 2012
BMW must be slipping
Are you sure about that?

I'd have thought it was a certainty. KTM's range is huge if you take into account the off road bikes![]()
That'll be the registered number358 for KTM against 657 for BMW as I read it!

That'll be the registered number
KTM sell lots of mx bikes and enduro bikes that never get registered![]()
Once you've factored in the non registered bikes they sell, plus Husaberg figures, I'm pretty sure they'd be way over the BM figures, it doesn't take a rocket scientist.
They sell off road sport motorcycles first and foremost, most will never be regstered as it is a pain to keep them sorn'd when you use the bike for racing.
When I get time I will get their accounts data and take a look - it will make an interesting comparison.

KTM outsold BMW by 1,000 units in 2012.
However the reason for my original post was to point out that the R1200GS and GS Adventure combined sales are at the top of the UK sales chart again and it has been this way since the 1200 was released and it looks like the new WasserBoxxer is going to keep them at the top.
Apart from the odd month when the Triumph Explorer was top BMW has almost always topped the sales charts.
