England Kev sent me a link to Bike Revival. They're selling the new Generation YSS shocks. Supposed to be a good shock and have the guys who were behind WP involved with them.

£269 Delivered. Got to be worth a try

Kev's ordered one so we'll see what he thinks to it.

Interesting.
Wonder if they do a remote pre-load option (for oilhead use)?....

Think I'll drop them a mail.

Mate of mine had one on his Beta Alp
It was rubbish lasted no time then puked it's oil out
I stripped it to see what went wrong.... The seal had twisted in the housing
He replaced it with a Wilbers and was over the moon with the improvement

After this experience I would give them a wide birth myself

I haven't heard any good stories about YSS shocks so far. I wonder if the new generation is an improvement.

Ah, perhaps I'll wait and see then

Seems to be no way round having to spend the best part of half the value of the bike on a pair of shocks for my oilhead :eek

Lots of the US riders highly rate them, which is one of the reasons I have gone for one myself, the shaft is much stronger than standard, the build quality is supposed to be better than Hagons, and the price is more realistic than some of the shocks I was offered, some of which would have cost more than I paid for my bike:eek:

You wont regret getting an Ohlins - the no frills one without any remote adjustments is right on the spot at the stock settings with a 450 lb / 80 nm spring.

With fork springs that give 10% more rider sag at the front than the rear with around 18 mm preload, and 15 wt oil in the rebound side it should be just about as good as it gets.
