I'm new to this Quest updating software lark. Do you have to do the upgrades in sequence or can you skip one?

Downloaded and updated the Qust following the instructions.
However, now, instead of sound I have noise similar to squelch. What went wrong? How can I reverse the upgrade?

Be thankful that your Quest has 256Mb memory (or thereabouts).
In Australia, and I think in the US, it only comes with 128Mb and the Garmin importers don't seem to have any idea of when we will get the larger memory version. The new release of CityNavigator software won't fit into existing Quests here .... rather dopey really.
BTW, has anyone reported problems with the non-removable battery?
