Get a plasma
I have a panasonic TH-42PZ81B. Its 42 inches of quality. Forget LCD they are the poor relation to plasma and can get bluring on actions shots like football on standard tv (not HD). You dont get any of this on these bad boys. Only downside is the price. Mine was just under 1200quid but I got 5 years warranty and a panasonic floor stand. Oh and forget about screen burn. It doesnt happen on new plasmas now.
