New Throttle cables... oil or not?

Nice new complete set of genuine BMW throttle cables arrived this morning (£85 ) before I fit them do I oil or not ???

I wouldn't. Probably a waste of time.

My inclanation is to fit dry as supplied, if they needed oil they would say on packaging I assume, maybe the silicon spray might be ok? just gathering opinions, I think oil may cause dirt to stick and gum up things

Not sure about bwm genuine but you shouldn't oil featherlight cables which may be the oem suppliers

No! Oil will gum them up.

Yep, seems to be general opinion on several forums I've posted the question, only a couple of oil recommends, so fitting them dry
