ok, only had my unit a week,it's a 2610, so for the moment only playing with it, so set a route in, ok it's local and I know the roads that I/we shall be taken along, now my question is,I was coming up on a round about, the R/Bt. only has 3 exits, on the gps.map it shows 4 exits, and the voice command is telling me to take the 4th.exit,as I knew that I needed the 2nd.exit, that is what I took, so why did the picture map show 4exits?? the R/Bt.I am talking about has only 4 ways, the one that you are entering on, then the 3 exits.
Dose this happen very often,...came back on return route came up to this same R/Bt. and it's saying "take 4th.exit" well that would have made me go back along the road that I just came upto the R/Bt. on..
I hope some one will be able to understand what I am trying to put down in words??
Is mapping on the unit up to speed?? the road is a newish bypass???but only by about 6 years old???
Just curious as to why this is, and has anyone ever had this sort of encounter???

mmmmmmm

hi spock, my 2610 did the exact same thing, but under closer inspection of the round about there was a very narrow single track road. so have a look and see! only an idea! good look let us know if you suss it out.:P

mmm,now you may well have a point, before the road was altered there was and still is a disused part of a road,I think.
I will have a go at it again and stop off and have a good ow look...

Have had about 4 of these in the last 6 months - but all of them had small roads leading off, which you could easily miss. The maps themselves may be slightly out of date as well, eg on the Heads of the Valleys road, the GPS tells you to "Enter roundabout and take 2nd exit" when in fact the roundabout hasn't existed for a good few months since the road was recently widened / upgraded. It's obvious though that it is a new stretch of road.

Just a suggestion, but try setting a short route around town, deliberately to take in a number of roundabouts to see how it copes. The only way to learn how to use it is to read the Manual, and play with it continuously. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in a few weeks / months. ;)

update
