Just sailed back form my favourtie playground and I was surpirsed by the lack of gendarmerie controls.
They have a new "code de la route" since 01 october.

The are installing fixed speed traps and no more "toll" at the police controls. Some offences are getting more expensive, like not doing a proper STOP at the traffic sign or speeding 30 kms/h over the limit.
