New twin cam GS reports please?

Looks like Tourance EXP's are on my new bike they good? :nenau

..... came fitted on my 2010. Reasonably sticky and pretty good in the wet. Rear will last about 4k. I like them. :thumb2.

You're getting free panniers with every new GS or GSA just now, however if you buy a GS with the Premium and Dynamic packs, they also throw in the topbox, inner bags for the panniers and topbox as well as the tank bag.

Sounds like I had my pants down when I bought mine then:eek:

That's strange Mike, mine came with Tourance EXP's on. You'd have thought the same dealer would supply the bikes with the same boots? :nenau

:rob:rob:rob:rob:rob:rob:rob:rob
Just one of those things!

I'm off to Spain in Sept, so I may change to Tourances (had these on all my GSes and really rate them) or maybe Conti Trail Attacks.

Mike

Don't get what you mean?

I just assumed the same model bikes would come with the same tyres, like most cars (and I thought most bikes) :nenau

Nope, they come with what the factory happen to be fitting at the time your bike is assembled.

BMW seems to have several suppliers and it just depends what they are fitting at that time - if they use more than one supplier then I guess there is a lower risk of being left without tyres, it's probably all connected with this 'just in time' philosophy to minimise stock and hence keep costs down.

Bloody gutted that I didn't get free panniers I only got bike last Month from Calterdon don't know why I missed out?

Any ideas Guys?:comfort

"Offer applies to new R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure bikes (including new '30 Years GS' special edition models) that are first registered between 01 June and 30 September 2010 inclusive, subject to availability. Panniers mounting rails for R 1200 GS at extra cost."

Although I know about free pannier cases for every new GS or GSA bought before 30 September, where did you get that extra info from? Will all BMW dealers do that extra bit?

No, you didnt miss much of this offer because the prices have since gone up across the bike range and accessories! The basic GS has gone up by £440! :blast

Form a gang with snerkler?

+ 1 to join the gang:mad: I too picked up a new GSA from Calderton on the 25th May, the bike was not due to be delivered until the 20 Jun, perhaps this is the reason it was delivered early:confused:to save them dishing out freebies, salesman will be due for abuse next visit.

Bob Brian W explained to me that deal wasn't really that great due to price hike so I feel I didn't lose out

As said above.

Today I bought a GS from Motorrad Central in Edinburgh:

2010 R1200GS in white
Premium Pack
Dynamic Pack
Vario panniers (complimentary)
Vario top box (complimentary)
Inner bags for panniers and top box (complimentary)
Tank bag (complimentary)
Crash bobbins and frame plugs (complimentary)

Picking up the 'Storm Trooper' on Friday - no messing about!

Looks very smart in white.

I'm probably going to have a looky at the 30th anniv model at MCE next week. Then just need to see what I'm offered for my '05 GS...!

Form a gang with snerkler?

Saw the add in June about it running from 1st June. This always happens to me. Bought a Sprint ST, 2 months later they started coming with free panniers. Bought A Impreza WRX STi, 6 weeks later you could get free PPP (prodrive performance pack) worth 1.5k. Bought a Tiger 1050, 2 months later came with 800 quid worth of free accessories, and now this with the GSA. I think there's a conspiracy :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Never looked back

:)Brought a 58 plate GS last year which I loved, however traded it on a new one in march. The first bike was great, the new one is awesome. Just got back from the pyrennes yesterday, the one morning it was dry the twisties were amazing, and it coped with extreme rain that saw an R1100RT fail, a sprint ST electrics play up, VFR electrics play up and GTR1400 electrics play up. However none of the 3 2010 GS's missed a beat. It has more grunt than the previous bike and is smoother, especially the gearbox which is much better. Apart from that a great bike made slightly better all round, all the little differences make a big impression.
