I totally believe what they say about not all super hero’s wearing capes there is some amazing people out there....
However I would love to hear your bollox analogy of the following pictures

1: Michelin Anakee Adventure 350 miles boots scraping on the ground lots of changes of underpants.

2: Metzeler Roadtec 01, 8 miles not scrubbed in boots not on the ground clean underpants.

My personal theory and is Michelin Anakee Adventure are shit !!!!

Picture shows the Road tech after 300 miles from new , I took this set off as could not deal with the front end after one ride out ( this was the second set I tried , the first was on a Euro trip as mentioned before) this set was taken off at 300 miles.
I ride with my toes on the pegs so all scrapes are transmitted to the pegs , no trouser moments as im used to it .

Conti Trail Attack 3 first ride out from new ( Wales ) mainly wet conditions 290 miles , similar grip but without the weird front end.
Like I said the Road tech is a great set if you can deal with the front squirm , for me the CTA3 surpasses the Road Tec as it heats fast , holds its heat and grips in all conditions.

Just had a quick look on Conti website they do the Road attack 3 to fit the GS 1250 as well any one tried these ?

I’m on Road Attack 3s and I love them, best tires I’ve ever had

I did run the Road attacks but found (for me ) the front profile made them slow to turn , the rears are similar but the steeper front profile on the front CTA3 seem to compliment the rear more. Grippy tho as most Conti tyres are.
Not knocking them as I liked them but the TA3 has the same grip , but better feel imho. Again ran them for just under 1000 miles before I changed for the TA3 as again the front felt odd , I blame the original TA2 as I always ran them but decided to see what else was out there as a comparison , expensive experiment but , the CTA3 is hard to beat.

It means nothing, different tyres have different profiles. Keep your feet up and out of the way and only worry if you start grinding metal.

Duh.....

But the Duel Sport Tyres now are as good as you can get to fit the GS , the technology now is so much better. and to be honest with the weight , torque of the gs its a sports tyre that shreds first and wears out and the Duel that works and copes with the demands.

Depends where your riding and what your riding for (fun or smooth points ) you can be smooth on the edge as well as smooth to look good you know.
Spain , hot roads , having fun less than 1500 on some rubber , found a great place in Jaca to change tyres .
Smooth is not making mistakes , not getting flustered , even when pushing , mainly staying level headed at low and high speeds and keeping your wits .
I ride with different folks , ex racers ex coppers advanced riders etc etc , never have I been called ragged , only ever smooth but fuckin fast.

Which means your advice re tyres should be taken with that in mind if people are honest with themselves.

I’m not slow by any means but I can honestly say i’ve never knowingly out performed a set of decent brand road tyres under normal conditions ( eg dragon supercorsa in a deluge is scary and Ice is a lottery on any tyre etc ). I suspect that is typical for 95% of riders, regardless of bike type. For sure I feel more comfortable on some tyres but that’s not the same thing.

I was a semi pro cyclist in my yuf and used to get asked about tyres and suspension etc to go fast all the time. To be honest most hobby riders aren’t going fast enough for it to make a practical difference to their rides other than in their heads.

Many a time , after a ride , I have been made red by comments to the positive , fuckin embarrassing at times but people say what they see not what they imagine.
