New tyres look like this after 68 miles!

Had a New Front tyre fitted to the bike today.. 68 miles later this is What it looks like.

Any thoughts.. Don't think I've seena tyre do this before.

This is repeated every block of tyre but onlt on one side.

I would be tempted to check the pressure and make sure it is correct before taking it back

It's a Tourance EXP, about 90% of them have this problem. I even think your tyre looked like this without ever riding it.

Pitty, I really like the EXP, but this just doesn't give the rider a good feeling, even if nothing happens.

Probably old stock, Tyres now only have life of around 5 years...
I had to change 4 x 7mm tyres [ @£80.00each ] on the wobblybox because of faults like yours above...
Check on the side of the tyre for the age code....

They've only been on the market for little over 3 years.. so age shouldn't be a problem... there has been a multitude of posts on this forum going back to almost day one. cracks. perishing.. temporary withdrawn due to 'tech issues' allsorts.

I would ask for them to be changed - FOR SOMETHING ELSE!!

There should be a date stamp on the side of the tyre (it`ll look different to the other markings) and check your pressures as has been mentioned.

Remember, it`s not worth getting hurt for. So if in doubt, chuck it out.

Get 'em changed for the OLD Tourance Much better IMHO.. in fact got a pair in the garage waiting for fitting

I wouldn't be happy with a pair of tyres that looked like that

Shit just wrestled two EXP's onto my rims for a upcoming France trip,
went out on test ride to scrub them in felt really good,
going out to garage to check, maybe in the morning then

Common problem with Tourances, get yourself a set of Anakees

i had that happen with a set of old style tourances.

That tyre is scrap.if its gets hot it is in danger of delaminating.
i doubt that anyone would over pressurize a tyre to that extent.
I would take it back to supplier asap.

What is the production date of the tire? just curious, I have seen a few tire shops (In Greece) mounting older tires and hoping the owner will not notice...

Take it back and don't take ANY crappy excuses. Tyres are usually pretty strong even with some surface cracks but not on a "new" tyre. Should be a straight replacement...

Take it back and ask why the fuck are they trying to kill you.
