I agree with most of what's been said about the colours, I don't like the red.
In the short term move some of the pictures from the About page to the Home page.
Lose the hat, have a shave, tuck your shirt in and take some new pictures. The ones on the sight have good relavant content but seem fuzzy and out of focus.

Do not loose anything you are Mark your work speaks for its self I don't know about colours and such theres nothing wrong that I can see but don't become a clone JJH

I don't think it was meant to be insulting, in everyday life you would expect a mechanic to be rough, ready and covered in oil, if he wasn't he's obviously not busy but this website is his point of contact with the public, as the face of the business there is nothing wrong with looking your best for it. You're more than likely to find me in bike gear or combats
but when we had to get company photos taken for websites or magazine I had to dig out the trousers and heels.

Sorry. I should have made my point more directly. When I read "certified" I think "insane". As in "He wants certified , he does." "Fully BMW trained" is probably more to the point anyway. Probably not that important.

If you need to use a map on site don't use a satellite view, use the basic road map.
In My Case "I became certifiable due to working as a "technician" at the BMW dealership!"

I know exactly WHY you've put your email addy as " mark at platinummotorcycles dot ie"
BUT....the onus should be on you to stick in a good spam filter on your email, not make your punters copy and paste and edit it........Punters want a CLICKABLE email addy......
If you want to, you can have a button that they click to send an email, and hide your email addy away in the script for it...that will have te same effect for defeating email harvesters, but personally, I'd like to SEE the email addy, and also be able to click it
(the reason I like to SEE it is because I know who I'm dealing with then......in your case, it seems totally kosher and it's your domain, but if it was [email protected], I'd be far less likely to use it......too cowboy
EDIT....I've just noticed that here on the forum, you have the full version of the email addy....in that case, it makes no sense at all to try and hide it on your own website......get in there now and sort it
In your WP admin page, you need to sort out what page is for posts......On any particular page, there is irrelevant/duplicated stuff below what you want to be showing ...You need to sort out ONE page for comments/posts, then have all the fixed pages as statics which don't show any more than you intend.
I'm not too fussed about the colour scheme........My first reaction was that it was bold and strong rather than too red and aggressive
EDIT AGAIN.....Yeah actually, having read the full thread now (I didn't initially 'cos I wanted to see it rather than be influenced by other's comments) I do agree that the red needs to be toned down a bit......by all means keep it as your identity and style colours, but it is very red.
I'd fekk around with the platinum motorcycles logo a bit....the text itself needs to look more, er, 'platinum' IYSWIM.....I want it shiny and metallic, it's a bit dull.
(just the text though, the rest of the logo is great......I might remove the red gradient from it though so the whole 'badge' (it feels like a tank badge) is a bit more prominent
Like the Google earth map, but go back to the app and set the initial zoom in to a much more local level, and have a line saying they can zoom it in and out (for the thickies)....Oh, and make it a map view not a satellite view
Minor minor detail, but I prefer 'About us' than 'About'.......
Biggest issue for me is the cleanliness of the overall site map.......you do need to get rid of the superfluous stuff whuch has been duplicated because of the incorrect use of the comments/posts in the blog software

Do you have a high res version of the top banner?
Whack it across to me at fanum1*at*gmail*dot*com and I'll stick it through Photoshop to platinum plate it for you if you like....it's dull (in a non-glossy way) and seriously needs a polishing up
By the way, I really really like your anti spam gotcha widget (I might go find it for some of my websites in fact....it's excellent!)........I'd re-phrase it though (it'll be in the widget options probably) 'cos 'Verify your real existence' sounds like heavy hippy shit

Its special alright isnt it, i have never seen it before and have a true hatred for the 'type what you see in the box (latin)
