New Workshop

I had my hands on industrial paint but was gone off

5l floor paint in local hardware was €45. Not cheap and baerly covered 25m2. Still seals floor in fully

Comes in green red or grey

Looks great, was 1 coat enough?

yes and know, if had taken bit more time i would spotted few areas didn't cover properly. sun was bright so was had see. ill prop give 2nd coat over summer ince all tools are in just make sure wear areas have great coat

its perfectly flush but ill be fitting mats in 1 1/2 where working so be covered when not in use

I think when Harry said to "watch your toes" it was in the context of not trapping them when lowering the table - a mat will not help you there?

very true, was reading on phone.

i have to weld up extensions to the lift pedals so they will be removed when not lifted.

i also will be moving them out from the table so won't be close to it.

the lowering pedal is stupidly close to the lift unit

Au contraire Gerry, Would be very handy for soaking up the blood after the toes are separated from their natural places at end of foot  keeping the place tidy looking.

I love that sunken idea though, otherwise when not in use its dead space.

thats a great feel thought out job

can i ask about the ramp ..how do you jack it up when its sunk in to the floor ? and does it still lift the bike high enough to work on ? i notice it looks like its sunk in around 10 inch ?

I just left slot at side to put pump pedal in to lift it up. I havr weld extension onto pedal but workd fine.

Yes it 7" lower. Do notice it been lower but still better than laying on floor trying drop oil

thanks for the reply John. building a new cave soon and thought about the sunken ramp too. will give it a whirl

Easy leave a hole and if dont need it just fill it in. Harden cut it out after laid floor
